Game's Documentary (2005) album sold a total of 2.5 million copies in the states, and another 2.5 million internationally, to make it 5 million sold worldwide. His last album (The R.E.D Album) was released in 2011, and people clowned him for selling only 98,000 copies in the U.S first week out. In the International market, he sold another 32,000 copies, making it a total of 130k first week worldwide Jeezy was praised for his TM103 selling 233,000 copies in the same 2011...but, in the international market, he sold only 2,000 copies first week. That is a total of 235,000 copies worldwide first week sales. If you check the proportion of sales between the two artists, you have to conclude that Game is a bigger international star.
Rappers like Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, and Big Sean are not really big overseas. Even Lil Wayne is not big overseas like a 50 Cent, or an Eminem. Lil Wayne's Carter 4 sold 964,000 copies first week last year in the states, and sold 64,000 copies in the international market, making it a total of 1,028,000 copies sold first week worldwide. Now, compare that with Eminem's Recovery album in 2010, which sold 741,000 copies first week in America, and 357,000 copies in the international market, making it a total of 1,098,000 copies sold first week worldwide...compare that margin with Wayne's margin.
According to sales statistics, rappers that have big international following are- Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.
