Drake is back at the top as the highest selling rapper on the billboard chart this week. His Take Care album sold 72,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 1,247,000 copies sold so far...since its Nov 15 release.
Young Jeezy's TM 103 sold 67,000 this week. It made its debut last week as the highest selling rap album on the chart with 234,000 copies sold...so he is now at a total of 301,000 copies after two weeks on the chart.
Carter 4 from Lil Wayne sold 35,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 1,917,000 copies sold since its Aug 28 release date. Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne collabo album sold 27,000 copies to land a total of 1,232,000 copies so far.
Common sold 19,000 copies of his The Dreamer/The Believer album, and is now at a total of 88,000 copies sold so far. And J.Cole's Cole World:The Sideline Story album moved 13,000 copies, and is now just 2,000 copies away from a Gold Plaque...he is at a total of 498,000 copies sold so far.
In case you don't know- a Gold Plaque is given to artists that move up to 500,000 copies of his/her album...Platinum Plaque for more than 1,000,000 copies, and Diamond Plaque (which is rare) for artist that move up to 10 million copies. It is only rappers like Eminem, 50 cent, tupac, biggie, mc hammer, and dr dre i know that have earned diamond plaques with individual albums.
