Styles P's Master of Ceremonies has done a full week in the stores, and it sold 11,000 copies after that. It is his 4th album, and was released on E1 Entertainment (former koch records) label. I predicted between 10-25, so i guess i am on point. I think it is not really bad, considering the fact that the majority of rap listeners nolonger listen to hardcore rap, and that is his type of music.
In case you don't know, Styles is one-third of the legendary rap group, The L.O.X which also consist of Jadakiss and Sheek Louch. Sheek's last album, Donnie G which was released in 2010 sold 5,500 copies in its first week, so i guess styles didn't do so badly. Jadakiss has always been the most commercial out of the three, and he is also on a major label. His last album, The Last Kiss (2009) sold 135,000 copies in its first week.
Styles being on an indie label like E1 gets to keep more of his CD sales money. Instead of getting just about a dollar 50 cents off a CD like artist on majors, he could get up to 6 dollars, depending on the deal he signed. So, i guess at least that is more change into his bank account. If he ends up selling 150k, that is about 800 to 900 thousand dollars in his account. I guess that isn't so bad.
