With his group, The Black Eye Peas, he has sold tens of millions of copies of albums, and has invested that money wisely. He also still tours worldwide, and commands a huge amount of money.

9.  Eminem- $100 million
Currently, he is the highest selling rap artists on the planet, and this has helped him sell out shows and arenas worldwide. He also owns a record label, Shady Records, which enjoys the catalog of D12, a percentage of 50 Cent's catalog, Obie Trice, Slaughterhouse, and ofcos his own humongous album sales.

8.  Snoop Dogg- $110 million
Ever since he sold 4 million copies of his debut album, Doggystyle in 1993, he has gone on to diversify. He is into movies, TV, and ofcos music. The brand, Snoop Dogg, still pulls a hiuge fee when it comes to being booked for a show.

7.  Kanye West- $130 million
Kanye West has a very successful rap career, with over 15 million album copies sold in the U.S alone, his tours pull in tens of millions. He has also ventured into fashion, with high-end foot wears and apparels.

6.  Ice Cube- $140
Cube was one of the first rappers to turn actor and become successful, as far back as the mid 90s. And he was wise enough to start a movie production company early enough. So, he just doesn't make money off being an actor, he makes the large percentage of his money from executive producing movies.

5.  Birdman- $150 million
One of the most persistent record label owners in the rap game; Baby, A.K.A Birdman, A.K.A Brian Williams has reinvented himself so many times through the years. He started the Cash Money Records label with his brother, Roland 'Slim' Williams in the mid 90s, and together, they have made hundreds of millions of Dollars in the last 20 years. He still makes money off Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Tyga right now, so you know he is still caking up.

4.  50 Cent- $155 million
Although at one time, he was worth almost half a billion dollars, thanks to his Vitamin Water deal with Coca Cola and other business deals, he has dropped to 155 million Dollars worth. His music might not be selling as much as they once did, but he has a crazy fan base, and he tours worldwide. He also did a $200 million deal with Lionsgate some years back for a 20 movies, which he shoots through his Cheetah Vision company, which currently is having a good investment year with his new TV Series, Power. Curtis Jackson is a smart and hardworking business, and would always find a legitimate way to make some good money.

3.  Jay Z- $550 million
Shawn Carter is a very shrewd business man, and he always makes calculated business moves, even if it means cutting off long time friends. This has helped this one time street corner hustle reach the half a billion mark in Net Worth. He is currently into management of music artists, as well as sports stars. Even though his Tidal music streaming company is not doing so well, he still pulls in large amounts of money from touring (over $100 million with his wife, Beyonce in their joint tour last year).

2.  Dr. Dre- $700 million
Dr. Dre hardly was top 5 for many years. He was just in the background, making good money from his new and past artists (Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent, Game, Kendrick Lamar...) till he founded the Beats by Dre company with Jimmy Iovine in 2008. Six years after inception, he sold the company to Apple for a whooping $2.6 billion. His share in the buy out was over a billion dollars.

1. P.Diddy- $735 million
Almost twenty years ago, on the smash hit of the late Notorious B.I.G, Puffy said "ten years from now, we'll still be ontop." He didn't see too far, cos he should have said "20 years." Almost 20 years after that song, Puffy is still the richest rap mogul in the game. He is one of the hardest workers in the game, and of cos he is very smart too. Smart to know how to parlay with up and coming acts who are at their peak, without losing his respect. He is into everything from music, to TV (Revolt TV), to water.

Thanks to Forbes.com and some other notable sites, I was able to put this together.
