Lil Wayne Is The Michael Jackson of Hip Hop

Reading through his biography, I consider Lil Wayne the Michael Jackson of Hip Hop. The quality I have picked in both artist that make them similar is that they bought started in the music industry at a very young age, and have remained there since then (in the case of Michael, till his death). Michael Jackson started singing at the young age of 5 with his other brothers in the group, The Jackson 5; and he later went on to do his solo career, where he got his most success. Lil Wayne was signed at the age of 12 years old to Cash Money Records in 1993, and he became popular with the Hot Boyz (together with Young Turk, Juvenile and B.G) at the age of 14 (1997-1999). He started his own solo career at 16, and has been giving his whole life to hip hop since then.

Lil Wayne, just like Michael Jackson, hasn’t done any other thing with his life than rap. He has released 7 solo rap albums, one EP, and one Rock album so far. He has also been on 3 group albums with the Hot Boyz. And he also, since his solo career, has released countless mixtapes (Between 10-13).  He has a cult following that have made sure that his last two studio albums (Tha Carter 3 & Tha Carter 4) sold a million copies after just one week out in stores. He holds the record for the most guest appearances on other people’s songs since he gained prominence with his solo career in the mid-00s. It is almost like he never runs out of energy or ideas; he is on almost every hot song on Radio.

So far, Lil Wayne has dedicated 17 years of his 29 years on earth to the music industry, and he is not planning to stop anytime soon. This man lives, eats, breaths Hip Hop. There is a high probability that he might just crash psychologically if he ever stopped doing music. I do not think there is another rapper that has dedicated so much of his life to hip hop, and that’s why I have concluded that- Lil Wayne is The Michael Jackson of Hip Hop.

  2. NO HE ISNT, YALL ARE CRAZY, MICHEAL JACKSON WAS THE ULTIMATE PACKAGE, HE COULD SING DANCE AND BRING LIVELINESS TO A TRACK, HE HAD MAGIC. LIL WAYNE IS SOME CHEESY ASS RAPPER WHO SPENT A DECADE TRYING TO BE THE BEST BUT FAILED UNTIL NOW WHERE HE CHANGED HIS GAME PLAN BY TARGETING DIFFERENT MUISC TYPES USING RAP TO BROADEN HIS FAN BASE. LIL WAYNE ONLY MAKES PUNCHLINES, HE HARDLY RAPS, RAPPERS LIKE CASSIDY AND THE GAME WILL EAT LIL WAYNE FOR LUNCH. MICHEAL JACKSON WAS BLESSED WITH TALENT FROM THE DAY HE WAS BORN. YOU CANT COMPARE ANYTHING TO MICHEAL JACKSON. THERE ARE ARTISTS WHO HAVE MICHEALS ATTRUBUTES E.G. DMX (IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE. CHRIS BROWN IS THE REFLECTION OF MICHEAL JACKSON, THAT DUDE PEFORMS.
