Okay, Rick Ross and his boys sold a little more than expected; the projections were for 45,000 copies, and they topped it with 14,000. Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made, Vol. 1 sold 59,000 copies in its first week in stores, and that makes the album the number one album selling rap album in the world this week.
Beastie Boy's Hot Sauce Committee PART 2 sold 20,00 copies this week, and it is now at a total of 214,000 copies sold so far. I still can't comment on this album, because i don't listen to their music, and i really don't know anybody that does. Maybe back in the days they were the shit, but nobody is talking about them, and i wonder who is buying the albums...maybe their old fans.
Whiz Khalifa is still on his way to GOLD status. His Rolling Papers album sold 15,000 copies this week, bringing the total so far to 417,000 copies sold.
Jadakiss released his new mixtape for retail sales last week, and "I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans)" sold 11,000 copies. I thought it was going to be a free mixtape through and through, because i have been a fan of his music, and the whole D-Block camp for more than 10 years, and they always give their mixtapes out for free. But it is all good, and nice to know that jada can make some money on the side. And on the mixtape? I have listened to it, and i think...well, i don't like some of the r&b inspired songs on there, but the straight up rap songs are really dope. I think it is a nice mixtape though.
Recovery from Eminem sold 9,800 copies this week, and the total sales is now at 3,872,000. I said it from the start that the kid was going to make it to 4 million copies sold; it is just a couple more thousands before he gets there. Howmany musicians sell quadruple platinum nowadays? Very very very few.
Lasers from Lupe Fiasco sold 8,600 copies this week, and the total so far is now at 397,000 copies sold. I hope he makes it to GOLD at least.
Tyler the Creator's Goblin album sold 7,000 copies this week, bringing the total to 65,000 copies sold. Tine Tempah's Disc-Overy sold 6,300 copies, now with a total of 23,000 copies sold.
