News on Jay-Z and Kanye West Collabo EP- Watch the Throne

Jay-z and Kanye West are about to drop their collabo EP, Watch the Throne, and they have just given new information concerning its release date. Read the news below-

The Source has received a solid date for the release of Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative and highly anticipated album Watch The Throne: July 4th. The information was shared exclusively to The Source by a source very close to the Hov and Ye super project. Later on this evening there will be a G.O.O.D. Music event presented by Heineken and Kanye West held at a still undisclosed location in New York City. Rumors are speculating that at said event, Kanye and Jay-Z might be making an announcement about the July 4th release date. Once the July 4th date is confirmed, remember that you heard it here first. Fireworks indeed. (The Source)

Earlier this week, a partial tracklisting leaked onto the Internet.
1. 'Lift Off' feat. Beyonce & Bruno Mars 2. 'Murder to Excellence' 3. 'Illest Motherf---er Alive' 4. 'Why I Love You So (Guilt Trip)' 5. 'That S--- Crazy' 6. 'Living So Italian' 7. 'Who Gonna Stop Me' 8. 'Whole Lifetime' 9. 'We Are Young' 10. 'Anthem' (The Boom Box)

While initially presented as a speculated list, confirmation on the tracks' authenticity has also emerged.
This just in: the Watch The Throne tracklisting floating around this morning via DOTR is in fact real. The highly anticipated joint project between Ye and Jay, which was said to see the light of day around March looks like it's getting the finishing touches because a source EXTREMELY close to the project just confirmed with me these song titles are legit, however more songs are said to be added. (You Heard That New)

Rumors of Beyonce and Bruno Mars' presence on the LP circulated over the Internet last month.
If you thought "H.A.M" sucked and thought that Watch The Throne thing wasn't happening anymore, think again. Kanye West and Jay-Z are preparing for "Lift Off," the first single from their highly anticipated long-awaited collaborative album, and have snatched up Beyoncé and Bruno Mars for the Jeff Bhasker-produced number impacting radio and your iTunes music library sooner than you think. Yeah, that definitely explains the random trips to Paris. (Complex)

Watch the Throne is slated to drop Monday, July 4th.

I wish them all the best  and i hope they can top what Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 did with their own collabo EP- Bad meets Evil. That was a wonderful peace of work, and it would definitely be used as a comparison with jay and kaye's watch the throne EP. I have not even heard the HAM track, so i cant really comment on this EP, so i have to wait till the tracks start floating on the internet before i know what's up with it.

It is a month away, so the whole EP should leak anytime from now. But it is really odd that this EP has Bruno Mars featured on it, and the Bad meets Evil EP also has Mars on it. Does this mean that Mars is the link to a formula for commercial success now? I think the dude is a great singer though, and he puts his heart into every thing he does, so i can't hate on him.

Joint collabo's are not always as commercially successful compared to either parties individual past success; i don't know why, but that is always the case. Check out R.Kelly and Jay-Z's Best of Both World projects; the two attempts didn't sell close to what the individual artists normally do. You can also look at the Distant Relatives album, it also didn't do as much as Nas or Damian Marley would do on a solo tip. I guess people always have mixed feelings about projects like that.
