Yup! Pharrell Williams is BIG worldwide, and the evidence of this is that his G  I  R  L album just attained platinum status globally. The album sold 61,000 copies worldwide this week to now put the album at an 8 week total of 1,009,000 copies sold. It means he has three times more fans Internationally than he has nationally, as the album is still at 325,000 copies sold in the U.S. Congrats to Mr. Williams.

This is the fourth week since the album dropped, and although it has sold just 217,000 copies in America, it has sold a whooping 703,000 worldwide. This is really good for Pharrell; it shows that his popularity extends further than the shores of America.

Even though he sold just 113,000 in America, and debuted at number 2 nationally (behind Rick Ross's Mastermind), it sold 318,000 copies globally, and is the number 1 album in the world this week. This means that although Pharrell sold just 113,000 copies in America with G  I  R  L, the album sold 205,000 internationally. I think this is HUGE! Thanks to his smash hit, Happy.
