Sauce Money is from the same projects (Marcy) as Jay Z in New York, and constantly collaborated with Jay back in the mid 90s. He was on the first three Jay Z albums (Reasonable Doubt, In My Life Time, and Hard Knock Life). During his recent interview on VLAD TV, he got talking about Jay Z, obviously, and at some point, said he thinks Jay Z is the most important rapper in Hip Hop.

"He's doing well. Like he's taking it to a whole nother level. And you know, he is a trailblazer, so you know, as a fan of music, you know, I appreciate that. Like I can respect that. I really appreciate what he's doing...I want him to continue to take it higher and higher as far as he can take it...I always knew he was talented, but I would have never thought in my wildest dreams he would take it this far. You know this is just something totally different. I think that...I think Tupac is the most polarizing artist ever. I think Jay is the most important because of not just the artistry, but the business as well. You know. He is showing you that there is different ways and different revenue streams to tap into to, you know, cement your legacy. So like what he's doing is just like incredible. Just amazing."
I agree with him. I don't think there is any other rapper in history that has had so many younger rappers looking up to him and wanting to be like him like Jay Z. I watched a 2 Chainz interview last week and he talked about how he has been trying to get Jay Z on his albums for so long. This is someone that has been in the rap game for more than a decade and still is a big fan of Jay Z. There are just too many rappers that want to be like him or that idolized him at some point...Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, etc. Nas and Eminem are two other rappers I know other rappers idolize, but they are not as business savvy as Jay Z. Well, Nas is getting more into business these days, but Jay Z has been really business savvy from the jump.
