Darius Rucker Comments On Racist Tweet

Darius Rucker is a 47 year old veteran American musician. Recently, an individual on tweeted this @ him- 'leave Country to the white folks.' Country music is dominated by white musicians, and the twitter user feels Darius shouldn't be doing this type of music. Well, it is a well known fact that Eminem is one of the greatest rappers in history. Race should never be a determinant of the genre of music you decide to pursue.


Mr. Rucker replied the racist tweet with-

He also touched on the subject  in a recent interview-

"I was absolutely shocked.Sometimes people will say, 'You're not country,' and I know what that means, because they can't be talking about the music. But when somebody says to leave country music to the white folks, that is unbelievable to me . . . But that's life. That's something that I'm going to have to deal with the rest of my career, because I'm a black guy in country music and there are people who don't like that. But it's not going to make me quit."
