Super star musician, Iyanya just broke download record in Nigeria with his hit single, Kukere. The song has gotten 3 million subscribers for the caller-back tune from individual phone users across Nigeria. This is a great achievement. I think this song is cool but I have to confess that I have some reservations concerning it. Well, it has nothing to do with the artist or the song, but what the song symbolizes to me personally. I actually took this girl I really love on a date earlier on in the year, and at the point when I was pouring out my heart to her, the video to this song came on, and it was like I was talking to the wind. She was hyped, like she wanted to go in the TV and steal the guy for herself. So, now anytime the song comes on, I remember that incident.
Well, that's just my sorry story, Iyanya is living it up in his Range Rover...changing actress girlfriends like underwear. He recently broke up with Yvonne Nelson, and started dating Tonto Dike almost immediately. He is having the time of his life. MTECH is the company that handles the caller back tune thing, and they paid him his big check last week Thursday. You can see that in the pic below. The amount wasn't specified, but I can do a lil math. The caller back tune cost 100 Naira for each subscriber but the company would get their share, and his record label would also get there's. Let's say, he gets 10%, which is 10 Naira on each download, times that by 3 million subscribers, and what do you get? N30,000,000 cool cash for Iyanya on just one song.
