"The thing about the Jesus Piece is, it's kinda like a 2012 Chronic album, if you will - I'm on it, and I'm on it a hell of a lot, but I got a lot of features," he said. "I wanted to get all of the dope Hip Hop artists that are dope now that are friends of mines — from 2 Chainz to Ross to Meek Mill — and I wanted everybody to co-exist on this dope Hip Hop album under this concept, which is Jesus Piece, 'cause we all be rockin' Jesus pieces."
He continued, "It's not a Christian album, it's not an album that's strictly about church or nothin'. It's just a constant battle with religion and street life and Hip Hop and lyricism and bitches and your wife and your kids and just the struggle."
I think I get what he means by- it's kinda like a 2012 Chronic album. If you heard the second Chronic album from Dre (Chronic 2001), you would note that there are some tracks on there that Dre wasn't even on at all. Basically, there were a lot of collaborations on the Chronic album, but it still had the Dre signature with the beats and the production and all that. I think this is what Game is trying to pull off.
I don't know how this will work for him. Seriously, he is at a point in his career where he needs to get his voice back out there as an individual, and not a failing artist that always needs Lil Wayne on all his albums major singles. I am still a fan of his old stuff, but he needs to get his shit together.
The album is scheduled to drop December 11th.
