Jay Z Working on Making a Film About Trayvon Martin

Jay Z, A.K.A Shawn Carter has always had his hands in many businesses. Whether it is the music business, the liquor business, or sports, he always finds a way of doing great things in different business fields. Lately, he has had his eyes on the Movie/TV industry. Jay Z in partnership Weinstein Company are working on a documentary series on the life and death of Trayvon Martin, a Miami Florida teenager who was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer named George Zimmerman 5 years ago.

"The rap star Jay Z and the Weinstein Company will team up to produce a series of television and film projects about the life of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teenager who was shot dead in 2012 near his home by a neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman.

George Zimmerman Accepts 'Game's' Boxing Match Request

Hmm! I think this would really be great entertainment if it comes to fruition. After George Zimmerman agreed to participate in March 1's Celebrity Boxing Match last week, a lot of rappers have volunteered to get in the ring with him, from Game to DMX...He has agreed to a boxing match with Westcoast rapper, Game. For those that don't who George Zimmerman is, he became infamous two years ago for shooting (and killing) a black teenage boy named Trayvon Martin, and beating the manslaughter case against him a year later, on claims of self-defense. 

It has been said that he has been training for a couple of weeks now, and he believes Game would be a perfect match for him. I hope things wont get messy on that day; a lot of African-Americans still don't like him, and I hope they don't lynch him after the match. I wonder if Game would be able to knock him out- I know a lot of people would love to see that. Zimmerman is 5ft7 and weighs 185 pounds, Game is 6ft4, and weighs 240 pounds. Hmm! This would really be an interesting boxing match. 



According to allhiphop.com, the promoter of the Celebrity Boxing Match thing, Damon Feldman said...

“He [George Zimmerman] is open to any challengers that make sense, but he is training hard and he said ‘Game is the perfect opponent,’”



We have to wait and see how things turn out. Below is what Game told TMZ about what he would do to George Zimmerman in the ring. 



"I will beat the f**k out of him. I would box him to knock him out. I would not be boxing for me. I'd be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family. I would definitely take pleasure in it. It's legal, and I want to show him you can solve your disputes without a weapon."


















As i said earlier, this would really be an interesting boxing match to watch. I will keep you guys posted on how things turn out with this in the next couple of weeks. 

T.I Says He Would Have Killed George Zimmerman If It Was His Kid That Was Murdered

Rapper T.I is one of the long list of rappers that have let the world know they are not cool with how the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case turned out. The way it looks to them is that a grown man stalked a teenager, they got into a scuffle, and the grown man fired shots at the 17 year old that led to the kid's death...and he walked in court. T.I says there wouldn't have been a trial if it was his kid that was killed, cos he would have killed George Zimmerman.

"Man, it was some bulls**t. My hat goes off to the Martin family, because if it was me and my child, there wouldn't have been no trial. I'd have been on trial. It would've been the trial of the father who killed the man who killed [his child]. That would have been my story. My hat goes off because [the Martin family] are much more clear and level-headed thinkers than [myself]." (News Radio)






Like Nas once said... You'll never know how you'd react till you're in that position. Well, what can I say? I think it's a sad case, and no matter how things had turned out, it still can't bring the kid back. I think this just came as a lesson and a wake up call for all African Americans.

Jay-Z Pours Out Heart On George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin Case

George Zimmerman got acquainted of the murder case against him for the killing of Trayvon Martin last year. Some people believe this is an evidence of how strong racism still is in the U.S, others believe the trial was fair. What does Jay-Z think? Read Jay's emotional outburst below-




"I was really angry, I didn't sleep for two days. I was really angry about it. We all knew it was still a bit of racism in America but for it to be so blatant, if you just ask yourself the question, 'Didn't Travyon have a right to stand his ground?' He was being chased, he fought back. He may have won. That doesn't mean he's a criminal. He won. If you chase me and you try to attack me and I defend myself, how can I be in the wrong? How is that right? This guy went to get some Skittles and go back to watch the All-Star game. He had plans. 'I gonna get this Arizona, these Skittles, and go watch this game.' ... He had no intentions of robbing anyone's home -- it's a thing where it's like a reminder of, 'We still got a long way to go.' Hmm! I don't know what to say. More like I don't like getting into racial discussions like this. But one thing I picked from what he said above that is true is that- "It's beautiful because this generation right now, they don't see color in that way." That's what i would like to hold on to...the older generation will all pass away with time.

Immortal Technique Gives His Opinion On Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman Issue

This is a controversial issue right now, and I really don't want to speak on it, cos my opinion might not be understood. But, I think Immortal Technique touches on a little of thoughts in his recent interview with Hiphopdx.com...Check out his words below-






"I think it’s a parent wake-up call more than it’s a Black person wake-up call even though it is a Black person wake-up call. I’m not going to say it isn't. I’m not going to call it a nigga wake-up call because I don’t think that we should even put the Martin family and that word in the same sentence. I say this much, that it is a wake-up call for Black people, but it’s also a wake-up call for parents. Parents, you’re going to have to have an honest discussion with your children about where they are and what they are walking through. You’re going to have to have an honest discussion about the value of people’s lives and how some people see it and where you are and to be mindful of your circumstances. The next Black person that dies in America is not going to be killed by a half-White, half Hispanic fake want-to-be cop. He is going to be killed by a Black man. So you're offended by what? You’re offended by people who hate you enough to kill you, or are you offended by people like you, who hate yourself enough to kill yourself? That’s the question we need to ask ourselves. This needs to be catalyst for people in the ghetto who are killing each other over blocks that they don’t own, over gang issues that are from their parents’ generation and not theirs. This is a wake-up call for them, too, because you have to realize that the clock is ticking and now you’re all on the chopping block, too."

 

"This is what has to change: If we're offended by the White establishment's champion, then this is the person they championed to be honest, it’s very sad," he says. "We're offended because someone did something of that nature and killed someone, then why aren't we offended when some of our own people kill each other? We should be just as offended at what’s going on in Chicago right now when they had to send in the Goddamn National Guard. We should be just as offended at what’s going on in Detroit with those killings. We should be just as offended as the majority of everything else that’s happening in terms of violence against our own people. We shouldn't look at that as the norm, either. If we feel guilty for looking at this as the norm, shouldn't we feel even more guilty for looking at that as the norm? Like, 'Oh…another nigga killed. Another nigga shot another nigga. Oh, that’s just the way it is.; Really, you’re mad at the fact that one person got away with killing a Black person, but you’re not mad at your mentality of, 'Well, a Black person killed another Black person, that’s just how it is.' We need to change that."
