This Week's Top Selling Rap Albums (18/12/15)

Albums are released on Fridays now, nolonger on Tuesdays, so they attain a full week's sales on Fridays. And so, that's when I would be putting up the post with the top selling rap albums of the week from now on. It is kinda a slow week for Hip Hop, but I am guessing album sales will shoot up when we get fully into holiday mood next week. Fetty Wap's self titled album, Fetty Wap is still doing great numbers. The album sold 31,892 copies this week. Below is the full list of the top selling rap albums of the week.

It seems Iggy Azalea is going to stay at the top comfortably till a Kanye drops, or a Jay Z, or maybe Lil Wayne. Her album, The New Classic is the highest selling rap album of the week, with 13,326. Unfortunately there are only rap albums on Billboard's radar this week. Hmm! This is pitiful for Hip Hop. Rick Ross's Mastermind still remains the highest selling Hip Hop album of 2014 so far, and it is not even Gold yet. 

This Week's Highest Selling Rap Albums on Billboard Top 200 Album Chart

Although J.Cole's Born Sinner came in second place on the chart 3 weeks ago with Kanye taking number 1 spot, Cole has claimed a number 1 spot for his second album. Born Sinner is the highest selling album in the U.S this week. Congrats to J.Cole...two Number One albums already. Born Sinner sold 58,000 copies this week, and now puts Cole's second album at 439,000 copies sold in 3 weeks.

It's good to see Jay-Z's 8th album, The Black Album make a comeback on the chart. That's the advantage of having a lot of albums. Having a crazy catalogue always helps in the long run, cos people that hear your new album and like it would probably go out and buy old ones too. J.Cole would be Gold with Born Sinner next week, and would start the climb to Platinum...that's great, I am happy for him.
