It's good to see my boys, The LOX (Sheek Louch, Jadakiss and Styles P) charting this week with their new EP- The Trinity EP. Okay, maybe it didn't sell that much, but they have never been big sellers like that, so for an EP they put out on their own via Itunes, it ain't doing  too badly. I am just happy they have something out there. I see Kendrick Lamar still moving units, and I can't but be happy for that nigga. Get your money up...you deserve it for all the hard work you put in.

Top Selling Rap Albums On Billboard Chart This Week

Jay-Z has the top selling rap album on the Billboard chart this week; Magna Carta Holy Grail sold 37,000 copies this week, to now stand at a 6 week total of 882,000. Congrats to Kendrick Lamar, as his "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" album attained platinum status this week. I was actually rooting for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to get the first platinum selling rap album this year with their The Heist album, but Kendrick beat them to it. His very controversial verse on Big Sean's Control song really helped out. Kendrick was down to selling 3-4k copies the last couple of weeks, but the Control verse boosted his album sales. GKMC sold 9,000 copies this week, to now put it at a total sales so far of 1,000,000.

French Montana's 'Excuse My French' is the highest selling rap album on Billboard Top 200 Albums chart this week, selling 49,755. These are not huge numbers, but it is not surprising. French Montana is not the type to sell huge with albums; he is more of a rapper that sells singles. His Pop That song has sold over a million copies already.

Top Selling Rap Albums On Billboard Chart This Week

I'm sorry this is coming late; I usually put it up on Wednesdays, but I wasn't physically okay yesterday. So, as we have it, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are still ruling the charts...check out the top selling rap albums on Billboard chart this week below-

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis- The Heist- 29,000 (490,000)

Kendrick Lamar- Good Kid, M.A.A.D City- 17,000 (778,000)

A$AP Rocky- Long Live A$AP- 11,000 (284,000)

Wiz Khalifa- O.N.I.F.C- 5,400 (342,000)

Chief Keef- Finally Rich- 4,300 (144,000)

Joe Budden- No Love Lost- 3,900 (56,000)

Game- Jesus Piece- 3,900 (209,000)

All, but one (Long Live A$AP) of the albums on the list above were released last year, and none has gone Platinum yet. What that means is that through 2012, till the end of the first quarter of 2013, no Hip Hop album has been able to sell a million copies. Hmm! What's happening. I guess the heavy hitters like Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne are the only rappers that can sell platinum in this current times. I think Kendrick will go plat in a couple of months, but I don't know if anyone else on this list can go plat.
