P-Square Now Singed To Universal Records

I have been saying it for a long time, and i will keep saying it till it becomes clear in people's eyes- Nigeria is about to take over the world. It's no question that Nigeria is the giant of Africa, but the recent international moves that there music artist have been making are ground shattering ones. First D Banj got signed to Mercury Records/Island Def Jam, now twin stars, P Square have just signed a deal with the South African arm of Universal Records. Nigerian Pop duo Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly know as P-square entered into a distribution deal with Universal Music, South Africa. The contract was signed and sealed this afternoon at a press conference in Johannesburg, South Africa and was announced via Peter’s twitter page. The music label will be releasing past and future projects with them. It will also handle all their digital and CD sales all over the globe.


The full details of the deal have not been disclosed but prior to this, P Square was signed to Akon’s Konvict Music. They will be releasing past and future projects under Konvict/ Universal.


Universal Music Group is the largest record company by its leading market share and its multitude of global operations. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of French media conglomerate, Vivendi. (nigeriansound.com)
