Royce Da 5'9 just got his first Plaque of his career; although it isn't a Platinum plaque, a Gold plaque is just as good. The Bad Meets Evil Ep, Hell: The Sequel (a duo album with eminem), was certified Gold last week, and that's Royce in the picture after being presented with the Plaque on Thursday. What this means is that the album has sold 500,000 copies. Of course, Eminem would get his own separate plaque as it is a duo album, but you have to know that those kind of things are not new to Em. Royce has been in the game since the late 90s, just as long as Eminem, or even longer, and has dropped 5 solo albums so far, but this the first certification on album sales he would be getting...I am happy for him.
If you don't know, he and Eminem became friends in 1997, after meeting at a concert where Royce was opening for Usher. They started recording as a duo shortly afterwards. Royce Da 5'9 appeared on one of the tracks off em's first album (The Slim Shady LP, released in 1999), titled Bad Meets Evil. You have to know that Royce and Eminem go way back. Royce also wrote "The Message" for Dr Dre, which was the last track off Dre's 1999 album, The Chronic 2001.
