Tupac, before he was murdered in 1996, was shot 5 times in 1994 at the Quad studio in New York; this article focuses on that particular incidence. Apparently, the shooting was what led to the whole Tupac and Biggie, West coast and East coast beef. From all the research I have done on this, Tupac was meant to record a track for an artist that Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond (present manager of The Game) was managing, but got shot upon entering the studio lobby. After this incidence, Tupac believed it could only have been a set-up by his friend biggie, or jimmy henchmen, because they were the two that knew he was in the studio.
Tupac went to jail a few months after the shooting, because of a Gun possession Charge, which he later opened up to have been Biggie and his crew's guns in his room, which he didn't snitch about at the time. This and a whole lot of other issues aggravated him to the point where he started to despise his onetime friend.
I watched a lot of youtube videos and read a lot of articles that dealt with the whole shooting issue, and I am going to take time out to lay it down for you, and you can then make up your mind on what you think of the shooting. First of all, I would like to talk on what Jimmy Henchmen said about it in a past edition of Vibes magazine. When asked about the shooting, he let the magazine know that he was the one that had invited Tupac over, and he was surprised when he saw him all shot-up and blaming him for the shooting. He said he had no cause to want to have Tupac shot, and that he in the studio all the time, just waiting for Tupac to come over and do the recording he was paying him for, so why would he want to have him shot.
And he also let out some information that he thinks Tupac probably shot himself in the thigh when he wanted to remove his gun to shoot at the people that robbed him. Recently, Lil Cease said the same thing, and He said the people didn't plan on shooting him, all they wanted to do was extort him, but as he drew out his gun, he mistakenly shot himself in the thigh, and the people shot twice at him. Lil cease says Tupac was only shot twice, and not 5 times as claimed.
Also, the whole Bad Boy crew that was in the building, upstairs with Biggie narrated what happened; their entire story checked. They said Lil Cease was at the balcony and saw Tupac working into the building; he shouted out to pac and pac holla’d back. When he told Big he had just seen Pac walk into the building, Big instructed him to go downstairs and get him. Minutes later, he walks back into the room shouting- “Pac has just been shot”. As they all said, they thought he was joking, and when they finally found out he was for real, they ran out to see what was happening. They saw blood all over, and the police collected all their IDs, and they saw pac being helped out of the elevator by paramedics; apparently, after pac was shot, he took the elevator to the top to see Big.
Okay, I would like now to deal with the story from Tupac’s angle, and I am going to run over it quickly. Pac said he was scheduled for a recording at the Quad studio for an artist that Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond was managing, and as he got into the building lobby, he was attacked by two men in army fatigue. He tried to reach for his gun, but they shot at him and robbed him. He said, he thought it was just one short (which explains why he was able to still walk around and stay conscious) and he made his way up the elevator, because he had seen Lil Cease at the balcony before he walked in, and believed Biggie would be in the building. According to him, Biggie and Puffy Looked surprised when they saw him walk in, like they had seen a ghost. He didn't count that as anything, he just wanted his man, Biggie to tell him who set him up. This is where guys get it wrong. He, at that time, didn't believe Biggie set him up, but he believed since he was in New York and in a studio where Big was, that Big was supposed to have his back and know who set him up.
He also said he kept calling Big after he got out of the hospital to get some info on who set him up or what happened but he didn't get any response. He said Big never came to see him while he was at the hospital, or while he later served a year in jail. This are all the things that angered him and made him believe Big must have known about the shooting.
He always looked at Big as someone he helped up, someone that he was allowing to open shows for him down on the West-Coast; as someone he spent money on in the clubs and on a general level before Big blew up, and once Big became a big star, he forgot all that, and didn't have his back. I think this is where the entire problem stemmed from, so you can make your conclusions and I would really appreciate comments.
