rap albums on the billboard charts

It is that time of the week again, when i do a run down on the rap albums on the billboard charts. Last wek, the collaborative album between veteran rapper, NAS, and DAMIAN MARLEY, "distant relatives", took the lead of rap albums on the billboard charts; eventhough the numbers were not too impressive. Distant relatives sold 58,000 copies in its first week. But if you look at it, that is more than a lot of collaborative albums have done in a while; it is more than METHOD MAN, RAEKWON, and GHOSTFACE did on their joint album; "wu massacre", which sold about 38,000 copies in its first week. I guess people are just always skeptical about getting collaborative albums; sometimes you just want to here you favorite rapper/singer, and not want anybody all up on the album.

This week, the "distant relatives album", did 25,000 copies in its second week in stores, bringing the total to 82,000 copies; not bad. B.o.B's album, the "the adventures of bobby ray", sold 20,000 copies this week. This brings the album to 190,000 copies sold, after more than a month on the chart.

LUDACRIS'S 6th album, "battle of the sexes is still waxing strong on the charts, and did 12k this week, bringing the total to 429,000 copies sold in total. The champ of the south is gearing closer and closer to gold status. "Trina", the self proclaimed queen of the south, sold 5,400 copies this week, bringing the total of her, AMAZING album to 54k.

Cam'ron & The U.N. Present..HEAT IN HERE: VOLUME 1 did 3,800 this week, its first week on the charts.
