Kendrick Lamar dropped his 4th album, Damn, yesterday, and a lot of people have been weighing in one it. If you know Hot 97 Radio's Peter Rosenberg, you know he is the greatest Kendrick stan on the planet, so it is no surprise that he would be quick to speak on this album. He has not only spoken on the album, he has gone ahead to say Kendrick Lamar is the best rapper who's ever lived. Yup! Those were his words on Hot 97 radio yesterday morning.
During the radio show, he first went ahead to suggest that Kendrick is officially on the Mount Rushmore of hip hop (with the greatest rappers of all time). And then he went on to say...
"...Not only is Kendrick easily in your top 10 of all time and pushing towards top 5 of all time for greatest rappers, I believe, in my opinion, and I wanted to say it last album, but I didn't want people to yell at me, and I'm a human person with flaws and sensitivity as well...Kendrick is the best rapper who's ever lived. There's not a person who can rap on planet Earth better than Kendrick Lamar. Eminem can rap as well. Nas can rap as well. Big Pun is right around there as well. I don't believe anyone can rap better than Kendrick Lamar." (Peter Rosenberg on Hot 97 Radio)
Immediately he finished his statement, someone in the studio shouted, "BLASPHEMY!!!" To give my opinion on this, I think he has a point. I don't totally agree with all he said, but I think he has a point. I mean, 90s rappers like Big Pun, Biggie, Pac, Eminem, Jay Z, Ghostface Killa, and Nas learnt from 80s rappers like Slick Rick, Rakim, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, KRS 1, and Big Daddy Kane, added a little of their own touch, and some of them became a bit better than the older heads over time. So, you have rappers like J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Wale,Joey Bada$$, and Big Sean who have learnt from the Nas's and the Eminem's and the Jay Z's, and they added their own thing. But I have to say that Kendrick is the leader of the new school, and he has gone really good at learning everything from the older rappers, and adding his own element to his craft. Do I consider him top 10 greatest rappers of all time, yes. Do I think he is the greatest rapper that ever lived? Nope. That's just my opinion though.
Below are some Tweets from Rosenberg to substantiate his claims that Kendrick Lamar is the best rapper who ever lived.

Bob Cousy was the greatest point guard of all time ..then HE SAID that any 12 year old could do what he could do .. hip hop is the same— Peter Rosenberg (@Rosenbergradio) April 14, 2017
The greatest in 1985 couldn't compete with the greatest in 1990 or 95...its evolution...Kendrick was able to learn from Em, Hov, Nas, Pac— Peter Rosenberg (@Rosenbergradio) April 14, 2017
