Gene Simmons (Kiss Guitarist) Says Rappers Don't Belong in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Singer and guitar player for the American rock band, Kiss, Gene Simmons says rappers don't belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Over the weekend, Simmons did an interview with Radio.com, and he said artists that don't play instruments or don't write their own music shouldn't be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“I have no beef with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You go on with your bad self and get more Disco artists...A long time ago it was diluted. It’s really backroom politics, like Boss Tweed. A few people decide what’s in and what’s not. And the masses just scratch their heads. You’ve got Grandmaster Flash in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Run-DMC in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? You’re killing me! That doesn’t mean those aren’t good artists. But they don’t play guitar. They sample and they talk. Not even sing!” (radio.com)

Honestly, when Eminem rapped about Run-DMC being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Rap God, it made me stop and think for a second. Let's be realistic, Grandmaster Flash is not a Rock artist, and neither is the legendary hip hop group, Run-DMC. So, this man has a point. But we black people will always turn stuff like this to a racial thing...Just watch.
