Jesse Jagz Speaks On 'Choc Boys Split'

As soon as M.I blew up in 2008 under Chocolate City Records, he put his homeboys on. Choc Boys consisted of his younger brother, Jesse Jagz, and their friend, Ice Prince. Through the years, things were great in "Chocolate City"; M.I dropped two ground breaking albums within a space of three years. He went on an hiatus in 2011, and let Ice Prince get his own shine. They added a singer, Brymo to the team around 2010. Although Jesse Jagz has always been the beat maker/music producer, he also dropped a full length studio album at some point. But, now, Jesse is saying he only sees his former crew members back stage, during shows. Hmm!

During a recent interview with Hip Hop World Magazine, Jesse Jagz had this to say about the Choc Boys-

“Choc Boys of 3 years ago are not the Choc Boys of today; we have all grown- everybody has moved a step up. The whole Choc Boys thing is fine however, we all came in to do music individually. I might be sending different messages across but I’m just saying the truth as it is that sometimes, stuffs and ideas don’t necessarily work out how you planned it. People change, things change, events happen-it is life”

“I can’t even remember the last time we sat together to make music. We probably meet most times backstage. People are busy making money, making music, meeting people…I’m not gonna sit here sugar coating it- that’s what it is right now”

That's life. Crews always break up. People can only share the same dream for so long...before individual members start having individual goals. And, I really don't think it is a bad thing. I see it as a sign of growth. By the way, Jesse also left Chocolate City Records a couple of weeks ago.
