Reebok Drops Rick Ross

After the continuous protest outside Reebok office in New York, by middle-aged white feminist women who don't listen to rap, Reebok has finally dropped Rick Ross. Reebok has cut-off Rick Ross's endorsement deal with their company. I still wonder how those white ladies I saw protesting heard that Rocko U.O.E.N.O song that started this whole controversy. How did they even know what "Molly" means? I guess they just picked that up from someone on twitter. By the way, below are the lines that caused the whole issue-

"Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain't even know it / I took her home and enjoy that, she ain't even know it."

The lines are very misleading to young listeners, but this is definitely not the first line like this in Hip Hop history. Well, I guess this issue will teach Rick Ross a lesson to be more careful with what he says in his verses. He will bounce back better...watch him turn this lemon to lemonade.

Below is the statement from Reebok concerning the issue-

“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. We are very disappointed [that Rick Ross] has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue.”

Hmm! So, the protesters have won. Now, the Rick Ross haters will be happy and have a great day on twitter making funny Rick Ross jokes. lol! They keep making fun of him for a job he had while he was 19, forgetting the fact that he didn't blow up on the rap scene till 2006, when he was 30. Do you know what he did to stay fly for those 11 years? I ain't defending Ross, I just don't like double standards and favouritism. Rappers like DMX, the late Biggie, and Eminem have said worse in their songs, but those were overlooked, or people make excuses for them. Well, at least, something good came out of this situation- people now know who Rocko is, and are reading up info on him. Rocko has been around for a long time, and even has two kids with R&B singer.  But his career never blew up. Now, searches for his name are too the roof, and he sure is milking the publicity well.
