Maino Talks About Getting on 'Love & Hip Hop'

A lot of rappers have been getting on that reality TV show wave over the years, and New York rapper, Maino jumped on the train last year. Maino is now a cast of the 'Love & Hip Hop' show, the New York chapter. I have heard a lot about the pay being great, so why not Maino get some bread.

Anyway, in his recent interview on The Angie Martinez Show, he talked about some of the rules he laid down to the organizers of the show before he agreed to be on it.

Read his words below...

"You know, I was like fighting them all the time like men I'm not doing this, I'm not doing that, I'm not filming with this...I just came with rules before they could even open up their mouth. I'm not even filming with these people right here. I had lists. And they was like, 'well, okay.' And I was like, you know what, this isn't even really that bad. It's cool. Like, I think that it was important for me to basically kind of control the narrative as much as I could because I...it's integrity. I'm not going on TV to look like a fool. You understand. I'm definitely not into like the monkey stuff, like we ain't gonna be in there fighting, throwing drinks..."

I really want to know if it is part of the contract that every cast of Love & Hip Hop has to fight and throw drinks. I have never really watched the show, but that's all I see when I see highlights of the show. Why do people on the show always have to throw drinks at each other?

Angie Martinez Speaks on Her Past Relationship with Q-Tip

I am just finding out myself. Actually, veteran radio personality, Angie Martinez and legendary rapper/producer, Q Tip (member of the rap group- A Tribe Called Quest) dated for a while back in the 90s. In her recent interview with The Breakfast Club crew (DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne), she spoke on how people didn't even know she and Q-Tip were dating till after they had broken up.

Rick Ross Fires More Shots at 50 Cent in New Angie Martinez Interview

I think Ross is really asking for it. This is the second time he would be taking shots at 50 Cent this month. The first time was during his interview with the Breakfast Club Crew (Charlamagne, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee), and now he is taking more shots at 50. It is surprising, cos their beef was in 2009, 6 years ago, and after that year, Ross never really said much about 50 again...whether or good or bad, even though 50 kept saying a lot of disrespectful things about him in interviews and all that. Anyway, Angie Martinez and Ross were having a discussion about Ross's past beef with 50, and then Ross asked her...

"How you felt when he (50 cent) filed bankruptcy?" Angie beat around the bush, and then said she felt he did it so as not to pay the people that won the various suits against him, and then Ross continued with..."You think Jay Z would have filed bankruptcy? You think Puff Daddy would have filed bankruptcy to not pay? You think Jay Z would have filed bankruptcy? You know what bankruptcy is? That's when its...everything you've ever worked for. That's your whole name. That's your brand...You walking away from it saying...That's it" (Angie Martinez Interview on Power 105.1)

Angie Martinez Gets Job at Power 105.1 After Resigning From Hot 97 FM

Just days after she told the world via her Instagram that she was resigning from Hot 97 FM, it has been announced that Legendary Radio Personality, Angie Martinez has been employed by Power 105.1. If you ask me, she made a smart move, cos Power 105.1 is where it is at right now. The radio station is more popular and loved by the people; Hot 97 is just living off past glory.

Read more on this below.

On Thursday morning (June 19), Clear Channel announced that Martinez would be joining the team at rival radio station Power 105. 1, in addition to airing on 103.5 The Beat in Miami. She's set to host a new afternoon show, running fro 2 - 6 p.m in New York. Power 105 and Hot 97 have been fierce competitors in recent years, so the move is definitely unexpected. (MTV)

Angie Martinez Resigns From Hot 97 Radio

Angie Martinez has always been synonymous with Hot 97 Radio, and vice versa. She tried rapping at some point in the early 2000s, but she will always be remembered for her memorable interviews as a radio personality with Hot 97 radio. Today, after working at the station for 15 years, she resigned. Below is what she said about this on her Instagram page.

"Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever. This was one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways."

Routine can get very boring, and make someone uncreative, so I kinda understand why she is living. I wish her all the best in what she wants to do next. Her name is already a brand, so she would definitely be okay wherever she goes.  Check out some of her pictures with rappers over the years.

Steve Stoute Says 50 Cent No-longer Has Anyone to Blame for His Failures

Legendary Hip Hop music exec, Steve Stoute was on Angie Martinez show (on Hot 97 Radio) yesterday promoting his new documentary, The Tanning Of America. While speaking on which rappers have the power to change trends on the hip hop scene (to which he mentioned Jay Z, Diddy, Kanye West, and Dr. Dre), he said 50 Cent no longer had the pull he once had in the genre. He went ahead to say that, in light of 50's recent departure from Interscope Records, there was no one else for him to blame his lukewarm career on.

“He hasn’t had a hit in a really long time. I mean, he has not made anything musically that’s changed anything in a very long time. And I feel like he’s always like gearing up for something that never happens. Hopefully, now that he’s independent and there’s no record company to blame, his aggressive content can get on the air…I think he’s trying to get back, but those guys—you know, music is a great platform. If you’re an entrepreneur and you have a—you’re currently active making music. You’re currently active touching people with albums. That it makes it much easier for you to venture into business deals that will become successful using the music to parlay it to get it done. And without having any music that’s meaningful over the last—probably the last great song he’s made was ‘I Get Money’…Kanye’s put out three albums, four albums since then.”
