Rap Albums on Billboard Chart

G.O.O.D Music crew retain the position of the highest selling rap album for the second week running with their Cruel Summer album. It sold 28,000 copies this week, and the album is now at a 3 week total of 289,000. DJ Drama debuts on the chart this week with his compilation album, Quality Street Music, which sold 24,000 copies after one week in stores.

Lupe Fiasco's second week sales for his 4th album, Food & Liquor 2 came in at 21,000. The album is now at a two week total of 110,000 sold. 2 Chainz sold 14,000 copies of his Based On A T.R.U Story album this week, and now stands at a total of 317,000. Rick Ross's "God Forgives, I Don't" album sold 7,900 copies this week, and now totals at 425,000 sold so far...this is the second highest selling rap album of 2012 so far. The first album is Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which is at around 650,000 copies sold so far. I have a feeling no rap album would go platinum this year.

Life Is Good album from Nas sold 4,600 this week to bring the album to a total of 310,000. Z-Ro's Angel Dust album made its debut on the chart this week, after selling 2,600 in its first week in stores. Kutt Calhoun's new album titled Kelvin also made a debut on the chart this week, after selling 2,400 copies in its first week out.
