Steve Stoute has chipped in his opinion on Lil Wayne dissing Jay-Z on the 'It's Good' track off Carter 4. Stoute, who was Nas's Manager through the better part of the 90s, and now Jay-Z's business partner, says Jay is bigger than going bar for bar with Wayne, and it would be a big step backward if jay paid any attention to weezy's diss.
Read below-
"For Jay-Z to do ANYTHING that resembles moving backwards right now would be insane," he said. "And a Jay-Z beef is moving backwards. Jay is SO MUCH bigger than rap at this point. He’s a movement. And THAT’S where his head is at. That’s where his focus is. And NO ONE is on his level, even worthy of him battling with. No one. So you probably won’t see that happen."
Below are some of Lil Wayne's line from the 'It's Good' track-
On the track, Wayne responds to Jay's dig at Baby on "H.A.M.," rapping, "Talkin’ ‘bout baby money, I gotcha baby money / Kidnap your bitch get that how much you love your lady money / I know you fake, nigga / Press your brakes, nigga."
I kind of agree...and i can recall saying that Lil Wayne is not on Jay-Z's level. They are from two different generations, and business-wise, they are on two different scales. Jay-Z is very very corporate right now, and has been top 3 top hip hop earners on Forbes list for the last 10 years or more. And wayne, although he makes a lot of money, is no where near the legacy Jay-Z has built. So, i support Mr. Stoute on this one.
