Young Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103 (TM103) is dropping on September 20th, and i am going to attempt to predict howmany copies it will sell in its first week out. TM101 sold 172,000 in the first week out, TM102 sold 352,000 copies first week, and The Recession (2008) sold 260,000 copies first week. Giving that this album, TM103 doesn't have the kind of buzz The Recession created with the "Put On" single, i would say it would definitely sell lower.
I always like to compare Jeezy with Game, cos they have the same pattern of career; they both dropped their debut albums in 2005, and the second and third albums in 2006 and 2008 respectively, and they bought had been trying, since 2009 to drop the 4th. By the way, Game dropped his (R.E.D Album) 2 weeks ago, and Jeezy is finally getting to drop his. I think Gangsta rap doesn't sell as much as it used to, so i would put the first week sales of TM103 somewhere between 80-200k.
This article is definitely good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the complement.
ReplyDeleteThe album has been pushed back to december, i will definitely have to write an updated first week sales whemd the time comes.
ReplyDeleteThis album has contravery and contraversy creates cash. I believe its gonna be his biggest selling album. The reason he does not have that old buzz is because he did no pop singles with rihanna and akon and them. Pop singles get more air play. that's why soul survivor got that much attention.Eventhough people hate on it. I believe he will and should put on a pop chorus such as one with rihana they sounded really good together on so hard..
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the song with Rihanna is rihanna's song and not his. And what controversy those the album have?
ReplyDeleteThe album drops in two weeks...i think it would do between 70-150k first week.
