Master of Ceremonies Official First Week Sales

Styles P's Master of Ceremonies has done a full week in the stores, and it sold 11,000 copies after that. It is his 4th album, and was released on E1 Entertainment (former koch records) label. I predicted between 10-25, so i guess i am on point. I think it is not really bad, considering the fact that the majority of rap listeners nolonger listen to hardcore rap, and that is his type of music.

In case you don't know, Styles is one-third of the legendary rap group, The L.O.X which also consist of Jadakiss and Sheek Louch. Sheek's last album, Donnie G which was released in 2010 sold 5,500 copies in its first week, so i guess styles didn't do so badly. Jadakiss has always been the most commercial out of the three, and he is also on a major label. His last album, The Last Kiss (2009) sold 135,000 copies in its first week.

Styles being on an indie label like E1 gets to keep more of his CD sales money. Instead of getting just about a dollar 50 cents off a CD like artist on majors, he could get up to 6 dollars, depending on the deal he signed. So, i guess at least that is more change into his bank account. If he ends up selling 150k, that is about 800 to 900 thousand dollars in his account. I guess that isn't so bad.

First Week Sales Prediction of Styles P's Master of Ceremonies

I am going to attempt a prediction of Styles P's new album, Master of Ceremonies first week sales. The album dropped two days ago...October 4 to be precise. It is his forth, and it was released off E1 Records; which is the former Koch Records. I would say, judging by the climate of hip hop right now, especially toward Gangsta music, which Styles is known for, he would probably sell between 10-25k.

I would like to say that my predictions have nothing to do with the quality of the music, but more on what rap music fans are buying right now, and the current buzz styles p has right now. He has a lot of fans/followers on twitter, but i have learnt (judging from Game's R.E.D Album sales) that you can't really depend on the twitter fans. He doesn't have a hot radio track, and not too many people know about the lead single off the album (Harsh ), which i feel is a very dope track...real dope hip hop track, no gimmicks. The track features Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross.

In case you don't know, Styles P is one third of the legendary rap group, THE L.O.X, which comprises two other rappers- Jadakiss and Sheek Louch. And i have to say that i am a big fan of their music...always have and always will, and i don't really care what they sell individually or as a group, i would ride with them till the end. Jadakiss has always been the most successful in the clique though.

I am reading about the album on twitter right now, and they are all positive, but as i said, they don't always translate to sales. I would definitely get my own copy over the weekend though.
