Pic: Erykah Badu, India Arie, and Brandy

This is a picture of three beautifully talented singers- Erykah Badu, India Arie, and Brandy. They were at an event together a few hours ago, and decided to take this picture. I love all three of them. Brandy kinda looks different though. I wonder what she's been up to.

India Arie Addresses Blue Ivy Critics

In the times of social media, everyone seems to have a voice. And since celebrities are always in the limelight, anyone can criticize them. A couple of Internet users have been speaking negatively against how Beyonce and Jay Z have been treating their daughter's hair; living it uncombed out in the public. Someone even started a petition online to get Jay and Beyonce to comb out their daughter's hair. India Arie, being a champion in the cause of embracing your natural self, spoke out concerning the criticizing the Carter's are currently.

Read her open letter below.

My thoughts on (Blue Ivy’s) Hair
Why does ANYone get the idea that its ok to make fun of a child?
In public no less?
This celebrity culture that hypnotizes people into thinking
a person is LITERALLY NOT REAL because you see them on television is a spell the watcher HIM or HER SELF MUST BREAK.
Blue Ivy — is a CHILD.
and ANYONE thinking to themselves right now:
“But she was  born with a silver spoon in her mouth so what does it matter what I say”
Denying ANY PERSON their humanity , is a GAME we should ALL stop playing.
WHY?

Because it’s the kind of PERSON YOU WANT TO BE.
Why NOT be a person who is loving towards human kind as a whole AND people as individuals?
WHY NOT be a person protects the hearts of children?
I think! all these people making negative comments would feel the SAME WAY if Blue Ivy’s hair were TOO DONE. If she had a relaxer, of Hair pulled too tight at the edges.
being gentle with a child’s hair is simply appropriate – this goes the same for ALL children
come ya’ll Lol
Were ARE better than this.

What is anyone's business how a couple want to raise their kids. It is not like they are exposing their kid to any negative thing. They might just want to let their daughter grow dreads like me when I was a kid. I was a dreadlocks rasta till I turned five. lol! But seriously, there are more important things for people to be worried about than Baby Blue Ivy's hair.

India Arie's Open Letter to The Grammys

India Arie is not a stranger to Grammy Award politics; 12 years ago, she was nominated 7 times, and went home crying with no WIN. Just like Kendrick, she performed that night, but she wasn't given one award even though she had put in so much work the year before. In light of the recently concluded 56th Annual Grammy Award which went down on Sunday, she has come to speak (in an Open Letter) on Grammy politics. Although her letter makes it seem its all racial, which I don't totally agree with, she kicked some knowledge in the it.
