Dr. Dre Finally Ready to Release New Album; But It Is Not Detox

Yea, I first heard about Dr. Dre's Detox album on Game's The Documentary album 10 years ago, and like everyone in Hip Hop, I waited and waited for it, but it was never released. The good doctor was inspired by the NWA movie that is on the way, and decided to record another album (or probably just change the title of the album he has had in the vaults for years), which is to be titled Compton. The album would first be heard on Apple Music tomorrow, August 6th. People would be able to stream it for three hours, between 6pm & 9pm PDT (Pacific Daylight Time), exclusively on Apple Music.

Read up the news on this below...

"Last week, during his Beats 1 radio program The Pharmacy, Dre announced thatDetox, his long-awaited follow-up to 2001, had been scrapped. Instead, a new project,Compton, will drop on August 7, just in time for the theatrical release of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton. (Pre-order sales have already propelled the album to No. 1 on iTunes.) The track list reveals guest shots from artists Dre has worked with at various stages of his career: Ice Cube and COLD 187um from the N.W.A/Ruthless Records days, while Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game and Kendrick Lamar all make appearances. There are also features from neo-soul star Jill Scott, ex-Floetry singer Marsha Ambrosius and hip-hop hook crooner BJ The Chicago Kid. It also revealed that, on Compton, the super-producer will once again introduce a new class of protégés." (npr.org)

What do you guys think? You think it would be bananas? I think Dre wont let the Hip Hop world down, and I think the album would do great commercially too...I see it selling half a million copies first week. Once again, it would be officially released on Friday (7th of August, 2015), but would be available for exclusive streaming on Apple Music tomorrow (from 6pm-9pm Pacific Daylight Time).
