I just saw the
Mercy video which features the whole G.O.O.D Music team-
Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and
2 Chainz rapping, and
Kid Cudi harmonizing. But what caught my attention was the a cameo from Nigerian's own
D'Banj around the end of the video. They were all wearing Arabian clothing, with the vail and scarf around the head and all, so it might be hard to distinguish one person from the other, but d banj appears between 5:01-5:11 of the video run time. You can see him in the pic at the side, after
Pusha T from the left...leaning on
kanye west. The pic was probably taking after the Mercy video shoot.
I think this is a great achievement for
D Banj and sign of more to come. He would definitely feature on the upcoming G.O.O.D Music compilation,
Cruel Summer which is coming in a couple of months. Since
D Banj separated from his long term business partner, and friend,
Don Jazzy, a lot of people concluded that it would be the end of him. But i guess contrary is the case. He has been able to export our kind of music to the world on a bigger level, without compromising his style.
