Olamide is a Nigerian Rapper signed to I.D Cabasa's Codded Tunes Records. His managed by none other than 9ice's ex wife, Toni, on Toni Payne Concepts. Olamide's style is very similar to late Dagrin's style of rapping, which mixes a local Nigerian dialect (Yoruba), broken English and proper English; but with Yoruba being the dorminant lingua. Olamide being compared to Da Grin does not give room for any criticism, because, really no idea is original, and when you do get to listen to the kid, you can't but like him instantly. A close scrutiny of his lyrics, even if just 4 bars, would give you an insight that it comes from, no doubt, a very intelligent mind.
His first official single, E Ni Duro would give you a taste of this young man's versatility. At a time when the nerdy look, and skinny jeans is the "in thing", he fits in just fine. And listening to him, or watching his video would give you the idea that he is strongly influenced by Lil Wayne. The title of his debut album, which dropped earlier this year (2011) is Rapsodi, you can check out the track-list below-
