Kid Cudi is at the top this week, and i think i am very happy for him. Amidst all the controvercy of being an adict, and several police arrests, his sophomore release- Man On The Moon 2: The Legend Of Mr. Rager, sold 170,000 copies in its first week in stores. It is good news that he broke the Sophomore jinx, and itshows he is improving. His first album(Man on Th Moon), which dropped just last year(2009) sold 104,000 copies in its first week in stores.
Cee Lo Green comes in next on the charts after cudi. Although his album didn't do so fantastic, it ranks 2nd on the charts for rap albums on the billboard charts. Cee lo's The Lady Killer album sold 42,000 copies in it's first week in stores.
I Am Not A Human Being, the EP by Lil Wayne is next on the charts. The album sold 35,000copies this week; that brings is total to 446,000 copies so far. His rock album, Rebirth sold over 500k before it went off the charts earlier this year, and now this EP is on to do 500k and above. I think that is good looking for wayne. Two Gold albums in a year.
Eminem's Recovery album, the most successful rap album of the year, is about to hit the tripple platinum status. The album sold 34k this week, bringing the grand total to 2,971,000 copies sold. He would have sold 3 million by next week.
Twista's The Perfect Storm album also debut this week, but sold just 14,000 copies after 7 days in stores. Rick Ross's Teflon don is at 472,000 grand total, and it sold 9,600 copies. He has already shipped Gold, and that is why he was celebrating on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, but remains for the physical copies to actually go off the shelf. And i think in another 3 weeks that would happen
Joe Budden's MIXTAPE SERIES is going stronger; he just dropped Mood Muzik 4; A Turn For The Worst, which did 6,200 copies this week. I think that is cool, considering the fact that it is a mixtape.
Let's see what Nelly and Cassidy would do next week.
