Lil wayne reigns supreme on the chart this week with the release of his new EP(not a full length album) "i am not a human being". It sold 110,000 after one full week of release. What more can i say, the man is making money while still in jail- i think that is great for his career and a sign that Carter 4 would definitely do huge numbers when it is released.
Gucci Mane is up next with his new project, The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted, which sold 60k after a week of debut. You got to give it to this guy- for like 14months now, he has been consistent on the charts; whether it was a mixtape or a full length album, he made the charts.
Eminem is still consistent with the sales, selling 59,000 copies this week- that brings the Recovery album to a total of 2,716,000. Those numbers would probably be on the fast rise soon, by the time people get use to seeing the latest video(single) to drop from the album, No Love, which features lil wayne.
It is only right that Lil Boosie would name his album Incarcerated- after being recently incarcerated. What is with this rappers and jail? Anyway, his album debuted on the charts this week, selling a total 30,000 copies.
Lacre, a gospel rapper i know little about, also debuted on the charts this week, selling 28,000 copies of his new album titled Rehab. I would like anybody that knows what's up with the guy to drop a word on him on here.
Ice Cube's highly anticipated album didn't do too well on the charts, after finally dropping last week. The "I am the West" album debuted on the charts this week with 22,000 copies sold. It is a good thing he is fully independent, which means he would make more money of his album than artist on major labels. So for a major artist making $1 off a cd, Cube makes $8, i think that is cool. And that means he just made $164,000 off the 1st week sales alone- I think that is good.
Bun B, one half of the now defunct rap group, UGK, is still slugging it out on the charts with his latest effort- Trill OG. The album sold 3,600 copies this week, bringing the total to 100,000 copies so far.
The root's How i got Over album sold 2,600 copies this week, bringing the total sales of the album to 151,000 copies sold.
