I am not big on album sales of rapper's, but when the artist in question, Nicki Minaj, seemed to be so concerned with it, i decided to carry out my analysis of how many copies i think her Pink Friday debut album would do in its first week in stores. I have to say that i do not single out nicki as being so concerned about sales rather than the quality of album, i think every rapper, from Jay-Z to Kanye West to Eminem pays too much emphasis on record sales this days.
With that said, i would like to continue on what i plan to do; check nicki's album sellabily. I think, with all she has behind her right now, she can not but move massive units. She has a huge following; which consist of rap listeners, females, pop fans, lesbians, and every other person that is hung up on what is hot on radio.
Also consider the fact that every collaborative effort she has been involved in has shot up the Billboard Chart, and her label, Young Money/Cash Money records, which houses platinum selling rappers, Drake and Lil Wayne, is the hottest on the hiphop scene right now.
I think, with all this, her November 22 release, Pink Friday would move between 500-700 thousand copies in its first week.
I would like to hear what YOU think.
