Bizzy Bone Gives Reason Why He Feels Mumble Rap is Popping Right Now

Rappers like Future, Travis Scott, and Young Thug have become very rich and successful from being mumble rappers, and a lot of mumble rappers are getting on the scene everyday. So why is mumble rap popping right now? Member of the Legendary rap group, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Bizzy Bone spoke on this during his recent interview on VLAD TV. 

"It's just one of those kind of vibes...like people, they bounce. You don't have to be a super great rapper in other to make it, and there's a lot of street dudes that get it in. You dig? And...And they rise, and people love tragedy to triumph. They like to have that for inspiration. So that's what I see with the mumble rappers. It ain't like they could do a song with Rakim, or they get respect, but they have a lot of...you know, they have a lot of fans, a lot of kids that...you know, you don't to train your mind to listen to something you don't understand anyway when the beat is already slamming."

He summed it up pretty well. 

Pras Talks About Life After The Fugees

For those that don't know, The Fugees was a rap group from the 90s that was made up of Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Pras. Lauryn was the lyrical one, Wyclef was good with the production and the hooks, Pras was like the muscle and the business man. They were just a perfect match, and were very successful. Their biggest selling album, The Score (1996) sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and all the individual members also had successful careers afterwards.

 The group has been disbanded for over a decade and the half now, and in a recent interview with DJ VLAD, one third of The Fugees, Pras was asked if The Fugees would ever get back together again, and he said no, and added that he is a great place in his life right now.


"We had a good run. I mean, listen, you know everyone's doing their thing. Umm! I like to think everyone is happy at what they doing. I know I am...This is going to sound very corny, but I have to say it because I'm so grateful for The Fugees...For me, I'm very grateful. I'm in a great place in my life. Umm! I...that was a moment that was great. We tried to do something, and it kind of like almost happened, it didn't...that is a distant past for me. When I'm...when i'm moving forward, when I look in that rare-view mirror? I don't want to see that. You know, to be quite honest with you. I don't cos to me it doesn't make sense anymore."

Kendrick Lamar's Damn album is the highest selling rap album (and overall album) for the second week running. It would have most likely enjoyed that position for a third week, but Wale is claiming that position with his Shine album next week. Damn sold 233,000 copies this week and it is now at a two week total sales of 843,000 so far.

Wale Says His Daughter Makes Him Cry

In his recent interview with Power 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club crew, MMG rapper, Wale let the world know his daughter makes him cry sometimes. Tears of joy.

"She's the best thing ever men! I ain't never really like...like I mean niggas think I was emotional before. Goddamn! Like when I be...you know. You know we on the road and shit if that shit hit you...like 'I miss my kids.' Like, I just be like...And then you probably go throw...you know me, I don't know how other parents...but I just go through my phone, and just be looking at her like...and I just be crying...sometimes. I be like 'young, what the f, what is, what is this smokelike, what is this sorcery. You know what I'm saying. And I just be like crying."

By the way, his daughter's name is Zyla Moon Oluwakemi, and she will be a year old in June. 

Freeway Talks About First Time Meeting Nas After Their Beef

Back in the days of the Nas and Jay Z beef, the first direct response Nas gave to Jay Z's 2001 summer jam stage diss was a track titled Stillmatic. On that track, Nas not only went at Jay, he went at Beanie Siegel, Freeway, and the all Rocafella crew. They all came back at him individually, and as a collective whole on different songs. This meant Freeway had diss tracks aimed at Nas.

Those times are in the past now. Nas and Jay Z have long squashed their beef, and were even business partners at one point. In his recent DJ VLad interview, former Rocefella Records artist, Freeway spoke about the first time he met Nas after their beef.

"I remember umm! It was the Roc Boys video. First time me and Nas really got to chop it up. I was...I had...after I shot my part, I had to leave cos I had a show tat night, so Nas was leaving out the same time. And I'm like 'damn dog.' I know I was coming at your neck and everything, but I fucking your shit. I was like they used to call me the Philly Nas.' He was like, 'na Free, I love your shit too. I listen to all your shit, I love your shit.' He gave me a hug, then he got in th wrong Maybach. He got into Jay Maybach, then he got out and said 'this ain't my Maybach.' Then he got in his Maybach and pulled up."

DMX Checks Into Rehab

According to TMZ, legendary New York rapper, DMX checked into a Southern California Rehab on Thursday, 27th of April. I remember watching an interview of his a couple of months ago and just noticed something off about him. It was like he had lost his cognitive skills...there was just something wrong. 

DMX has been battling drug addiction for several years now, and it was more evident in his poor performances during his recent shows that he still had a serious drug problem. He has gone on to cancel all future shows right now, and his manager, Pat Gallo had this to say about DMX's state of health. 

“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer. We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”

I wish him all the best. X was at one time a top tier rapper...both lyrically and commercially. 

Treach Has Some Nasty Words for His Ex Wife

Legendary rapper, Treach of the Naughty by Nature rap group had some nasty words for his wife yesterday. Apparently, she has a book out, and she told some lies about him in it. He shared the picture you can see below of both of them when the going was good, and he captioned it- 
"THROWBACK THURSDAY, SOMEBODY TELL MY EX-WIFE THIS OLD SCHOOL RAT YOUR BOOK IS FULL OF LIES YOU PRESS WHORE, YOU SOLD YOUR SOUL TO A HELL HOLE, & PUT MY KIDS IN THE MIDDLE FOR RATINGS.., YOU KNOW YA FUCKED UP RIGHT LMFAO!!"

First Week Sales Prediction of Wale's "Shine" Album

Wale just released his 5th studio album, Shine, and I want to predict what it would sell in its first week out. Wale has always sold in the range of 60-150 first week, and this is not going to be any different. I predict Shine would sell between 120-140k first week...plus or minus.

Kodak Black is About to Go to Prison for 8 Years

Miami rapper, Kodak Black is about to go to prison for 8 years for violating the terms of his probation. Damn! Just when the guy released his debut album and was starting to get some shine.

The 19 year old rapper has been on a 5 year probation since 2016, and he violated it some weeks back when he assultated a female bartender at a Dade County strip club.

"Kodak Black was found guilty on five counts of willfully and substantially violating his house arrest in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, court Wednesday (April 26). He will return to court May 4 for sentencing. 

This was the third day of Black's probation violation hearing on charges of violating the terms of his house arrest by going to a Miami-Dade strip club, a boxing match in Ohio and other places without the authorization of his probation officer. 

In court, a detective testified about allegations that Black assaulted a bartender at the Miami-Dade strip club. (That case is still open because the accuser had not met with the detective, as of Wednesday -- which the detective said is not uncommon for such cases.) The former manager and a security guard of the strip club both testified as well. None of the testimonies alleged Black assaulted the women." (Billboard.com)

According to Page Six, power couple, Jay Z and Beyonce just put in a $120 million bid for a Bel Air hilltop mansion. That is some money, but heck, they are Jay Z and Beyonce.

The hilltop mansion has four swimming pools, bullet proof windows, 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 15 car garage, a recording studio, a separate staff quarters among many other qualities.

The mansion spans a space of 30,000 square feet, and more than 10,000 square feet of outside living space on two acres of land.

Tyga dated Kim Kardashian's younger sister, Kylie Jenner for a while, and then they broke up, came back again, and broke up again. It seems they are done for good now, and people believe Kylie has moved on to another rapper- Travis Scott.

Kylie and Travis Scott were seen holding hands at Coachella last weekend, and then they were looking cozy together again at an NBA Playoff game a few days ago.Then again, all this could be a publicity stunt. Right now, Keeping Up With The Kardashians has low ratings, and I am sure mama Kris will set up anything to get the show popping again.

Anyway, we will know if they are really dating as time passes.  

Nigerians Come For Migos on Twitter

During a recent interview, successful American rap group, Migos were asked what their most awe-inspiring performance was, and they said their performance in Nigeria a couple of weeks ago. One of them (Offset) went on to add this...

"When we was on the highway...It's a third world country and it's a lot of struggle in the city...And for us to go to the show and they knew everything word for word...they knew all the words to the songs and their English wasn't even that good."





Nigerians aren't happy about the end part of that statement. By the way, to my American readers, I am a Nigerian, that lives in Nigeria. I remember one of my readers finding out I was Nigerian and being shocked. He couldn't believe I had a laptop or electricity to to get on the Internet. Anyway, back to the story, I am guessing the Migos member was referring to our accent. Yea, we ain't got the whole sweet sounding American accent, but most Nigerians write just as good or even better English than African Americans. Fact.

Drake to Host First Ever NBA Awards

As reported on NBA's official website, Drake would be hosting the first ever NBA awards on TNT. This is a great job for Drake. The awards will air on Monday June 26 by 9PM ET. The event will be NBA's official annual awards show, and it would honour all leagues top performers for the first time. 

The awards that would presented during the show include;

Gucci Mane Has Released 22 Albums and 64 Mixtapes So Far

This is hard to believe, but Gucci Mane has released a total of 89 projects so far in his career. He has 22 albums, 64 mixtapes, and 3 EP's to his name...a total of 1,401 song to date. DAMN! Dude works hard. My personal goal is to write 100 books in my lifetime, and I am currently 11 books in, so this kind of information keeps me motivated.

Xzibit Loses His Father

Westcoast rap veteran, Xzibit lost his dad yesterday morning. His father had been hospitalized for a while now, but gave up the ghost yesterday. Below are his words on an Instagram picture of him and his father he shared yesterday.
