Freeway Rick Ross Says He Had to Stop Goons From Confronting Rick Ross

I don't think there is any rapper in the game that gets more hate than Rick Ross, but he keeps winning with every move he makes. I guess success breeds enemies. I am not even a big fan of Rick Ross like that, but I see through all these jealous ass niggers going at him with every chance they get. Freeway Rick Ross, who was a legendary drug dealer back in the day is the one Rick Ross the rapper got his name from, and he recently said he once had to stop goons in the hood from taking down Rick Ross. He even said he had to talk Suge Knight out of taking Rick Ross down.

Read what he had to say below-

"It's hard," he said when asked how he keeps people from confronting Ross on the streets. "Trust me, these dudes in L.A. don't like what he's done...Even when I lost the lawsuit, three of the shot callers from the hood came to me and said, 'Is it time yet?' I was like, 'Nah, man.' I don't want that. I don't want nobody to do nothing to him. They want to put a no-fly zone on him, saying he can't come to L.A."
He also explained that Suge Knight has approached him about the matter.
"Even Suge Knight came out. Suge stepped to me one day like, 'Let me handle this.' I was like, 'Nah.' It ain't about that."
More from the ForbezDVD interview can be found below, including "Freeway" Ricky Ross saying that the judge in his case against rapper Ross used to work for Universal. (hiphopdx.com)

This is funny...why would a former convicted felon, who is probably still on parole be talking about getting in touch with people on the street on some crime/assault ish. And he even went to associate Suge Knight with a possible assault on Rick Ross in the future. ..on live radio.

Okay, I understand that this man might be letting people believe he is pissed because Rick Ross is using his name, but what is really pissing him off, and the rest of the people attacking Ross is the fact that he has been able to become so successful...and he is getting that legit money. They can say all they want, but Ross is the smarter person in this situation. They need to leave that alone, and mind their own business. I think Suge in particular needs to work on building a career for himself, and stop living on past glory.

I was a fan of Trick Daddy in the past, but even he is acting all envious right now. Of cos Ross started off with him, but people do grow, and people have different dreams. Some want to keep being the king of the hood, and others see bigger than that. So, when Ross started blowing up, Trick went on the internet and said Ross used to be a prison guard. Okay, Ross was a C.O for a year when he was 19, but that was 10 years before he became big with the rap thing. So, why bring that up. And why expect respect from someone when you tried to assassinate his character.

And like Ross keep saying, he is in Miami, and they can come see him anytime they want to settle it the street way if they want. Asides from that, they need to STFU!!! Everybody going at Ross have a couple of things in common...they either hasbeens, or broke ass people jealous of his success. Think about it, Freeway (former Roc-A-Fella artist) uses this man's name too, why didn't he go after him?

Nas Becomes First Rapper to Have Number 1 Albums in 3 Decades

With his 10th album, Life Is Good at number 1 on the Billboard top 200 albums chart this week, Nas becomes the first rapper to have number 1 albums in 3 decades. He dropped his first album (Illmatic) in 1994; although that didn't debut at number 1, his 2nd album, It Was Written (1996) made it to the top spot when it dropped. He also had a number one with his 3rd album (I Am) in 1999. That is 2 number one albums in the 90s.

Then he had 2 number one albums in the 00s- Stillmatic (2001), and Hip Hop Is Dead also made it to number one when it was released in 2006. Now, in 2012, he bags another number one with his Life Is Good album which dropped last week, and sold 149,000 copies in its first week in stores. Congrats to Nas on his longevity in the music industry.

Rap Digital Singles Sales

It seem there are more and more people that sell millions with singles, so it is important to give the statistics of numbers in this sector. Florida remains the undisputed champion with singles sales, and this week, his "Whistle" single sold 206,000 copies, and now is at a total of 998,000 so far. That is just 2,000 copies shy of a platinum plaque. But it is funny to know that he has never gone plat with any of his albums before.

Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz all came together as the G.O.O.D crew to make the incredible "Mercy" track, which has been getting constant play both on Radio and TV so far this year. The single sold 68,000 copies this week, and now is at a total of 1,248,000 sold so far.

Flo Rida comes up again with his "Wild Ones" single, which sold 57,000 copies this week. The song features Sia, and has sold a total of 3,121,000 so far. WOW! Over 3 million sold and counting. Now you know why I said he is the king in this category...all those "feel good" music he makes has created a great lane for him.

T.I's new single "Go Get Em" sold 55,000 copies in its first week on itunes. 2 Chainz featuring Drake, "No Lie" sold 48,000 copies this week, and now totals at 481,000. Pitbull, another vet in this category sold 43,000 copies of his "Back In Time" single, and now totals at 1,343,000 copies so far. Wiz Khalifa's "Work Hard, Play Hard" single is heading for a plat; it sold 41,000 copies this week, and now stands at a total of 804,000.

DJ Khaled's "I Wish You Would" single, which features Kanye West and Rick Ross sold 13,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 92,000 copies sold. Nas, not one to make it in the "singles" arena, has his Swizz Beatz assisted single "Summer on Smash" on the chart this week after selling 13,000 copies first week on itunes.

First Week Global Sales of Nas's Life Is Good Album

Nas's 10th album, Life Is Good dropped last week, and after spending one full week in stores, it sold 176,000 globally. In the U.S, the album sold 149,000 first week, so judging from his global sales, his international fans bought 27,000 copies of the album.

Nicki Minaj Goes Plat with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded Globally

Nicki Minaj has finally earned herself a Platinum Plaque globally with her second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. This being its 16th week out, it sold 24,000 copies worldwide, and now stands at a total of 1,017, 000 copies sold globally. Congratulations to her.

Please note that the numbers above are for global sales, the album is still at 600,000 copies sold nationwide (in the U.S)

Possible Mobb Deep Split

Earlier in the year, one half of the legendary rap group, Havoc put up some tweets sayings some not too nice things to Prodigy But news later broke out that Hav's twitter account had been hacked, and that there was no bad blood between the duo. But information from Havoc now is that we were lied to...things are no longer smooth with the Hip Hop legends. Read Havoc's tweets from April before I go on.

"prodigy a hider not a rider," a tweet read from Hav's page.

"nothing hacked P h*mo y'all no hack this havoc"

"P IS HIDING!!! IM GONNA SHOW U P GETTING KNOCKED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! WATCH HE TRY TO DODGE ME!!"

"THINK ABOUT IT... HOW COULD HE SAY,,, QB MURDERERS ??? LETS DO A ONE ON ONE!!!!! ME AND P!!! HE SO BUTTTT HE WILL AVOID!!!!" (Havoc's Twitter)

It doesn't really say what went down, but it really sounds like a bitter Havoc. I guess we will get the full story soon. Anyway, below is news of Havoc admitting to lying about the tweets being fake.

"The tweets is crazy," said Havoc. "So it was you?" asked Creekmur. "Yeah," said Havoc. "And I was speaking of a stand point of being mad, but still being truthful of how I felt - but it was just the wrong thing to do at that time." As for the state of Mobb Deep, Havoc says they are taking a break."Right now Mobb Deep is on hiatus, indefinitely...until things get hashed out," Havoc told AllHipHop.com. "Eventually, the real story will come out; there's two sides to every story. Only one has been spoken for." (All Hip Hop)

It will be a sad end to a long working relationship between the two...since the early 90s. I sure will miss their music together cos I am a fan.

Ciara's Dirty little Secret

Apparently, r&b singer Ciara has a bad habit of stalking boyfriends, past and present. That's the reason she loses them so fast. In fact, 50 Cent had to threaten her with public embarrassment before she could stop stalking him after they broke up. I guess Ciara is one insecure woman. I remember Chelsea Handler (a tv celeb who 50 cent dated for a while) talking about 50 warning her that she might get a nasty call from Ciara while they were dating but that she should ignore it.

Read more below-

“Ciara is a beautiful girl, but she just has the worst luck with men. The reason she can’t really keep a man is because she has a nasty habit of stalking them! Most of the men she has dated will confirm that she calls way too much and falls in love too quickly. Even after she and 50 broke up, she still called him numerous times to tell him that she loved him. It annoyed 50 so bad, he had to threaten her with public embarrassment before she stopped making the frequent phone calls.

I bet people also don’t know that she caught feelings for Chris Brown while he was dating Rihanna. A couple of years ago in a nightclub, she basically stalked him the entire night. Chris started off being really cool about it, although he wasn’t interested, since he was dating Rihanna and Ciara doesn’t look like his type anyway, so he wasn’t willing to creep.

This is what basically started Rihanna and Ciara’s beef before the two eventually got into it on Twitter after Ciara shaded her on television. Everyone that was there that night still talks about how desperate Ciara looked trying to get at Chris in the club. Chris probably would have obliged if she was mixed or very light skin. He does have a type, and Ciara doesn’t fit it.” (allhiphop.com)

Thanks in anticipation.

Drake Says He is One of The Realest Rappers in Hip Hop

I guess a lot of people misuse that word- "real". In hip hop, a "real rapper" has to be from the hood and have sold drugs and stuff. They appoint the title of the realest rapper to the one that is able to keep up this act, and make the people believe he is the epitome of that image most hip hop listeners have in their heads. But when Drake tells the world that he is one of the realest rappers in the game, i have to agree.

Read up what Drake said about this below-

I just sort of exist and people embrace it. I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day. It doesn't take me six hours to get ready and I don't have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this. I just have to be me. That's one of the favourite parts of my life - I've done this purely by being myself."

This is 100% true. I laughed at the part where he said he doesn't wake up and remember to act one way, or speak one way. I totally agree with Drake; he doesn't have try to be gangsta, or show off his new car, or new chain, or put up a mean mug and all that. He sings, yea, we know that, but he is one damn good rapper when it comes to dropping a mean 16. I just feel you can have a longer career when everything about you is real and you don't have to live up to anyone's expectations.

Drake raps about his life experiences. He wasn't raised in the hood, but that s not the only subject matter that should be of importance in hip hop. He raps about the ups and downs of his life, about his struggles before he became a known rapper or celebrity all together; his family issues; his female issues.

Lil Wayne's Cars (2012)

I watched a Lil Wayne interview where he said he was the first rapper to get a Bugatti; well, i don't know that for a fact, all i know is that he has one. He has a black Bugatti Veyron ($1.8 million), a black Phantom Rolls Royce ($400k), a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG ($190K), a 2012 Bentley Mulsanne ($290k), and a Maybach 62 ($450k),...maybe some more, but this are the ones worth mentioning. You can check out their pics below...in the order I have listed them.

Photo Rick Ross's 2013 Maybach Coupe

Rick Ross most have an addiction for Maybach's. I know his company is named after the car model, but come on! He has like two already. Anyway, below is the pic of Ricky Rozay's new 2013 Maybach Coupe which got delivered to his crib a few minutes ago. I don't know, but I'm guessing the car probably cost nothing less than half a million dollars.

Nas Networth

Rap veteran, Nas has always been very secretive about his life, and businesses, and it has been an argument for as long as I can remember what this man is really worth. For the longest time, the press, and bloggers have thrashed him endlessly on being a broke washed up rapper. But like he said on Loco-Motive, one of the tracks off his latest album (Life Is Good)- I shouldn't even be smilin, I should be angry and depressed/ I been rich longer than I been broke, I confess/I started out broke, got rich, lost paper then made it back Like Trump bein up-down-up, play with cash

Back to the reason of my writing this post- Nas is worth $200 million. Yea, you heard me...$200,000,000. Anyway, he said it himself, and Nas is not one to lie about such a vital information. On the first track off his Life Is Good album, he said- I remember early mornings, syrup sandwiches, sugar water, yeah...
Walkin up the dark stairwells, elevators was out of order, yeah..Worth two hundred million now, +Bicentennial Nigga+

Life Is Good at Number 1: Rap Albums on Billboard Chart

Nas debuts on the chat at number one this week with his 10th album,  Life Is Good album, which sold 149,000 copies after one week in stores. MMG's Self Made Vol.2 album sold 18,000 copies this week, and now is at a total of 172,000 copies sold so far. Flo Rida's Wild Ones sold 8,400 copies this week, to total at 53,000.

Aesop Rock's Skelethon album sold 3,800 copies to now stand at a total of 18,000. 3,600 copies of Waka Flocka Flame's Triple F Life album left stores this week, and is now at a total of 70,000 copies sold. Kokane's mixtape, Dr. Kokastein (Hosted by DJ Assassin) sold 2,900 copies this week, and now stands at 4,000 sold. Also, his The Legend Continues project sold 2,200 copies to now stand at a total of 3,900 copies.

Official First Week Sales of Nas's Life Is Good Album

Nas's 10th album, Life Is Good was released last week Tuesday, July 17th to be precise. And after a day in stores, projections by experts saw it doing 115-125k in first week sales. But, the album ended up selling 149,000 copies after a full week in stores, and now stands as the number one album in the country (America).

Nas Speaks on Getting Married Again...Says He's Shy

The last track on Nas's new album, Life Is Good, Bye Baby is an emotional track about his marriage and divorce to singer, Kelis. He put it all out there with that song. In a recent interview, when he was asked if he will try the institution of marriage again, he said he would but he doesn't know how to go about it. He says he has opportunities to meet all sorts of women all around the world, but that he is shy, and doesn't instigate the move. I read on twitter everyday how hundreds of females of all ages proclaim their love for this man, and how they would marry him in a heart-beat...but that doesn't mean they would be right for him. I guess I understand where he is coming from.

Below is what he said about dating again, and finding that right person-

"Well, I thought that I found one, and I don't know, bro. I'm messed up out here, man. I got the opportunity to meet people all over the world," he shared. "Brilliant women, tall women, short women, slim women, thick women, you name it. But, I don't meet them. I have the opportunities to and it's a little bit — I'm a little shy, so I don't meet them and I don't know who's right for me. I looked at people like Harry Belafonte — he's been married like three times; Richard Pryor — he's been married like five times. So many affluent men are faced with finding love problems. I'm sure beautiful, affluent women are faced with the same things sometimes. Halle Berry can't seem to get a break, you know what I'm saying? So, it's just something that I don't know if we'll ever figure out. I hope I do while I'm here."

I remember this words from a track off his It Was Written (1996) album- I got no game, it's just that bitches understand my story- I guess he was just being sincere. Read on.

"At some point I'll do it again. It'd be great. I want to be better at it. I want to be the best at it. I want to have fun. It's a beautiful life. You learn, you win, you lose, but you get up," he noted. "I just wanted to make that one real record about that situation. I'm hearing artists, men, famous guys, cry when they heard that song and it just blows me away. For one, it means I nailed it and to me that is the greatest feeling of achievement. You don't want to disappoint. Especially someone like me who's been out of music for years and hasn't had an album in like, four years. I don't want to disappoint — that's a nightmare to me. So when I hear people love it or like it or even cry to it, it just says 'Wow, I did something right. I got it; I got it done. I'm not falling off.' That song, I had to. It was to me the most important record on the album."

What Is Realness In Hip Hop

I am writing this article cos i keep readig on the internet about one rapper being real and one being fake...one being hood and the other being soft and ish like that. I really don't understand why a rapper's talent on the mic must be judged by where he comes from, or what he does or cliams to do in his spare time. Everytime i read a comment about Rick Ross being a correctional officer, and Young Jeezy being the real hood guy, i get really pissed off. So what if Rick Ross was a C.O for a year when he was 19 (17 years ago), he is a great rapper now, that's all that matters. Jeezy had beef with Rick Ross and was saying all the reckless things about Ross, and talking about street ish and all that. Rick Ross got on radio and other mediums to challange Jeezy to any street battle he can bring on, and nothing has happened to Rick Ross since.

I don't support violence, but if a rapper says he is street, let him go all the way, or shot his mouth and just rap. So they say Rick Ross never did all the hustling....how do they know that for sure? He got into the rap game at 30, have you thought about what he was doing to keep himself alive all the while after stopping his job as a C.O 10 years before being presented to the hip hop world? 10 whole years!!!  So, jeezy was affiliated with the Black Mafia Family in the past, and that's what people are concerned about.

I really don't get people really. They support something one day, and then they say the opposite the next. They say they want realness, but when 50 Cent was waring against Game and Jimmy Henchmen, and Tony Yayo's house got riddled with bullets after he slapped Jimmy Henchman's son at the mall, they said that's taking it too far. And all this people that support 50 Cent and his so called realness (after living in connecticut for the last 10 years) all because he was the one that leaked the info about Rick Ross being a C.O forget that that same 50 was beat up by the whole Murder Inc crew from back in the day. And he had to wait till he was rich before he could go at them- which included him taking the stand against Irv Gotti (Murder Inc Co-Founder) & Supreme...and was happy when supreme gto convicted . I wont be surprised if he was one of the sources that helped get Jimmy Henchmen in jail. The same 50 that got shot 3 times, but made the world believe he was shot 9 times...so who is fake and who's real now?

So what are we talking about? There shouldn't be any half-stepping here. If they are gangstas, they should go all the way, and stop making all the noise in the media. Rappers are just entertainers; none of them go out and gangbang anymore. How can they have time to do that when they are mostly in the boot recording or doing shows? Why should they do that when the money they are making from rapping is more that they can make in the streets?

If rappers want to rap about what they did in the past, it is okay, but no rapper's mic skills should be based on howmuch drugs he sold in the past. People lash out at Drake all the time for being soft, but he is just expressing himself. You don't expect him to rap about gang banging when he didn't grow up in that type of environmnet. What matters is that he expresses himself the best way he can, and he does a pretty fine job as far as rapping is concerned. I'm a fan of the Game, but he has let his ego for keeping his street credibility get in the way of his actual rap career, and that's what has made him less relevant in the game right now.

People want to be entertained, so some rappers tell hood stories, add a little drama to their lyrics, but that don't mean it's all true. Eminem's Slim Shady LP had lyrics on getting high, sex, killing people and drugs...but that doesn't mean that was what he was indulging in at the time. i guess he explained that well on his track, Stan (from Marshall Marthers LP). You don't have to take everything rappers say seriously...they are entertainers. They are artists.

Rick Ross and Meek Mill Working With Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey is on her way to dropping her 14th studio album (counting the 2 Christmas albums in her catalogue), and her first single is going to feature two of the hottest rappers in the game right now; Meek Mill and Rick Ross. Carey has always been known to work with rappers through the 3 decades she has been around, so this shouldn't be a surprise. The track will be titled "Triumphant (Get 'Em)". It is set to drop early next month. O.D B, Jay-Z, Nas, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Twista, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Mase, Jadakiss and Styles P are some of the rappers she has collaborated with on her albums in the past.

As a big Mariah Carey fan, I am really excited to hear about this new development. I think, she is on her way to becoming the most successful female artist in music history. She has 5 albums that have been certified diamond (selling over 10 million copies) by riaa.com, with Music Box (1995) selling over 32 million copies worldwide. She has 18 number one hits, second in that category only to The Beatles. She has sold a cumulative of over a hundred million copies in her 22 year career.

The title of the upcoming album hasn't been released, but its sure to drop before the end of the year.

First Week Sales Prediction of Rick Ross 'God Forgives, I Don't' Album

Rick Ross is about to drop his 5th album- 'God Forgives, I Don't'- and I am going attempt to predict what it would sell in its first week out. Although he makes great albums, he has never really been one to debut with big numbers on the chart through out his career. His last album, Teflon Don (2010) sold 176k first week; his first album, Port of Miami (2006) sold 187k first week. He has keep it consistent with first week sales of between 150-190k his whole career.

He just released a compilation/group album (Self Made Vol.2) with the other artists (Wale, Stailley, Meek Mill, and Omarion) signed to his MMG label, and that sold 97k first week. I would say Rick Ross's "God Forgives, I Don't" album would sell between 130-200k first week...plus or minus.

By the Way, the album drops next week Tuesday, July 31st to be precise. He has released 4 singles from the album so far; Touch N' You featuring Usher, So Sophisticated feat Meek Mill, Hold Me Back, and the latest- 3 Kings, which features Dr Dre and Jay-Z. Below is the official tracklist of the album.

RICK ROSS GOD FORGIVES, I DON’T TRACKLIST
1. Pray For Us
2. Pirates
3. 3 Kings feat. Dr. Dre & Jay-Z
4. Ashamed
5. Maybach Music IV feat. Ne-Yo
6. Sixteen feat. André 3000
7. Amsterdam
8. Hold Me Back
9. 911
10. So Sophisticated feat. Meek Mill
11. Presidential feat. Elijah Blake
12. Ice Cold feat. Omarion
13. Touch ‘N You feat. Usher

15th Week Global Sales of Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded

Nicki Minaj sold 25,000 copies globally of her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album this week, and is now at a worldwide total of 993,000 copies sold. That is just 7,000 copies from attaining that platinum status globally...good for her.

I would like to point out the fact that the figures above are for worldwide sales. Right now, she is at 578,000 sold nationally in the U.S with the album.

Picture of Rick Ross's Florida Home

Rick Ross was voted hottest rapper in the game by MTV a couple of months ago, and you can't front on the fact that this man is putting in a lot of work. He is building his Maybach Music dynasty...signing Meek Mill and Wale have more than paid off in the business side of things; so yes, you can call him The Boss.
