Diggy Simmons Speaks on Low "Unexpected Arrival" First Week Sales

Young Rapster, Diggy Simmons's "Unexpected Arrival" debut album has completed one week in stores, and it did 21,400 copies in its first week. A lot of people are saying this are disappointing sales, but below is what he had to say-

"It's about growth. You look at a whole bunch of people. Look at Reasonable Doubt, when that first came out, that wasn't anything. And look at Jay now. You could look at Bruno [Mars] recently. When his Doo Wops &; Hooligans came out, like 50,000 first week and ended up going double plat. So it's about growth for me. I'm happy that the people who are listening to it are loving it. It's like having an impact on your life and making them want to aspire to be whatever it is they want to be. Because that's what Unexpected Arrival is about, it's about making your arrival in life special. No matter what people say or if they don't know what you're capable of. It starts with the belief in you before you try to go and look for other people's approval. I'm happy that it's doing that for people." (Karen Civil)

I think, judging by all he said, he has really been schooled by his dad and uncle. It's true; jay-z's Reasonable Doubt didn't do well in stores...i think the second album was even worse in sales. Jay might have been a "has-been" if he had given up after the second try...his third album was the beginning of his commercial success. People make first week sales a big deal. I will always sight an example to make people play less emphasis on first week sales. Mariah Carey's Emancipation of Mimi and 50 Cent's  The Masacre dropped around the same time in 2005. Mariah did 444,000 first week...50 cent did 1.1million first week. But by the end of the year, Mariah ended up at 4.9 million sold...a couple of hundred thousand copies more than The Masacre.

Nicki Minaj and Madonna Kissing

Check out the pic of Nicki Minaj and Madonna kissing. There was a rumor about this in December, but it finally leaked. Isn't it ironic that it leaks a couple of days beofre nicki's second album drops? More publicity for her. Here is a link to the video- nicki and madonna kissing

Beanie Sigel Leting off The Negative Energy

Beanie Sigel used to be like Jay's right hand man, along side memphis bleek back in the Roc Days...in the late 90s and early 00s. But things changed and went ugly when there was a split in the Roc-a-fella dynasty. Jay went with Kanye west, and  the rest were just like lost puppies. Beanie Sigel took it personal. He started poking fun kanye's dressing around the mid 00s. Then started an all out attack at his former boss and friend, Jay-Z in 2009. Thanks to 50 Cent who was also going at Jay-Z at the time , he got a lot of airplay and support. But all the diss tracks amounted to nothing as jay didn't respond to them.

It might appear that Negative energy is working for you at first, but it always comes right back. I think Beanie has understood that now, and he is looking to give up all that baggage, and blend in. Based on a recent interview with him, it seems he is ready to embarrass some positive energy.

Check out what he said about Drake below-

"You can't front on him. Drake's gonna be around for a long time. His talent is going to outrun whatever you say about him," Sigel said in an interview. "His lane is so crazy. I got Drake's album. I bought his album like three times. Like, he got everything. Like, it's everything on there you can rock to. You can rock to everything -- he go R&B, he go hip-hop, he go lyrics." (Talk of the Town)

This is the same thing i feel about Drake's album, but it is surprising to here Beanie Sigel say that. Sigel has always been the gnagsta image portraying type of rapper. I guess he knows that can only take you so far in life. And when you are no longer in your 20s, you know you got to think different.

Below is what he said bout the Jay-Z beef-

"It ain't really no situation right now," Sigel said in an interview. "At the end of the day, Jay, that's my brother and will forever be my brother. It's just, we had a little misunderstanding, you know, situation. I couldn't get to him so I had to, via, you know, emcee it. That was it. It's over. [Have we spoke?] No, not yet. But it's like that finish line Drake said, 'I can't wait to run into you.' ... I don't really like talking over devices and things like that. I'm a face-to-face person. ... If Jay wouldn't have put me on, then you might not be hearing Meek Mill. So you gotta understand certain situations lead to certain things." (Talk of the Town)

I think this is a more matured man talking. This is what he needs for real growth.

Top Selling Rap Albums on Billboard Chart

WOW! It has been a while. My blog was short-down by google for some reason i still am not sure of. Anyway, i am back. And ready to continue what i do best.

Odd Future have a new album out this week- OF Tape, Vol. 2, which sold 40,000 in its first week in stores. Diggy's Unexpected Arrival is also new on the chart this week and it sold 21,000 copies. Careless World: Rise of the Last King from Tyga sold 16,000 copies this week, to now total at 157,000 copies.

Young Jeezy's TM 103 sold 12,000 to now total 533,000. Congrats to Jeezy. I never thought this album would hold on this long. Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne album is still hanging on with 9,900 copies this week, and at a total of 1,393,000. Machine Gun Kelly's Half Naked & Almost Famous album sold 8,500 copies on its first week on the chart.

Lil Wayne's Carter 4 sold 7,900 copies this week, with a now total of 2,093,000. Tech N9ne's Klusterfuk sold 3,300 copies this week, to now total at 20,000 copies sold.

First Week Sales Prediction of Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded

Nicki Minaj's second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded drops on the 3rd of April, next week Tuesday. A lot of tracks have been dropping from it; some poppish, but some hip hop. I think the latest to leak from the album, Champion, which features Drake, Young Jeezy and Nas is the best i have heard from it. I think that track would give people a new perception on what to expect from the album.

Her first album, Pink Friday sold 375,000 copies first week when it dropped in 2010. Right now, she has built up more fanbase, but i think the first track that was released from this new album, "Stupid Hoe" didn't do so well in good publicity for the album. I would predict that Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded will sell between 270-400k first week. That's basically on the strength of her fanbase, and the fact that Cash Money/Young Money are still the hottest rap clique in the industry.

I'm Back

My blog was seized by google, but i just got it back today. I still don't know why it was seized, but i just thank God i have it back after 2 months. So, i will resume posting from now on. I say thank you to all the people that have been patient with me.
