Game Say's R.E.D Album Would Be Rap Album of The Year

Game has come forward to say his 4th album, R.E.D Album would be the best rap album of the year. I think that is a very bold statement- since the large majority are yet to hear it, we can't dispute his words.

Asked greater detail about his forthcoming fourth solo album, R.E.D., Game declared, "The R.E.D. album, if I can say [it] - pardon Tha Carter IV; [Lil Wayne] is my nigga and I can't wait to hear that, cop it and then check it, but the R.E.D. album is gonna be album of the year." Game respectfully acknowledged his longtime friend and collaborator's upcoming album in his statement. Lil Wayne is even an expected guest on R.E.D., as he also appeared on 2008's LAX. Game continued, "I gotta say it. I've been working on it so long, and I have anybody who's anybody on it - major players that are contributing. Shit's gonna be crazy."

R.E.D. is planned for August 23 release. The album is believed to feature contributions from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Lupe Fiasco, Tyler, The Creator and others.

I can totally believe that- of course i don't believe he can outsell lil wayne, but he can definitely make an album with better quality. Let's just hope it drops on aug 23 as is expected to, because it has been pushed back so many times in the last couple of months...or should i say years? I am a big Game, but i don't like some of his antics. I don't like how he believes he has to do songs with the hottest people in the game for recognition, or how he goes on and off about liking jay, and then drops a dis at him every now and then. But, remove all that, and i can boldly say that, in his generation, he is arguable one of the best.

Amy Winehouse Revealed The Rappers She Would Love To Work With

A couple of days after her death, in an interview that never saw the light of day, Amy Winehouse revealed the rappers she would love to work with-

"There's so many people I'd love to work with: Nas, Mos Def. I'd love to work with Busta Rhymes, I'd love to work with Rah Digga ... I love them," she said in 2007. "I learned a lot of stuff about how to write songs from people like that. I just really like them, and if they like my stuff, cool. ... If they want to do a track, I'd love to." (MTV)

Wow! She really did have taste for music, and not just popular music...i never saw her as a person like that. It is just so sad she had to die like that.

We The Best Forever At No. 1- Rap Albums On The Billboard Chart

We the Best ForeverDJ Khaled is at the top of the charts this week with his new album compilation, We the Best Forever. I call it an compilation album because Khaled is a Dj that brought a lot of lovely rappers together, and made  something wonderful out of it. He has been doing it for a log time now, and this is his 5th album compilation. We The Best Forever sold 53,000 copies after one week in stores. One thing i have to say- i am happy for his success, but i don't like how he did Fat Joe...Joe made him, and he just jumped ship.

Royce and Eminem- Bad Meets Evil- Hell: The Sequel sold 28,000 copies this week, bringing the total sales of the EP to 370,000. Big Sean's Finally Famous album sold 14,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 147,000.Hell: The Sequel (Deluxe Version) [Explicit]

Still Pimping [Explicit]Tech N9ne's All 6's And 7's sold 5,400 copies this week, to be at a total of 113,000. A post-humors album from one half of UGK, Pimp C titled Still Pimping sold 3,400 copies this week,  and is now at a total of 9,900 copies. Tyler The Creator, a member of Odd Future and half Nigerian sold 2,600 copies of his Goblin album, is now at a total of 94,000 copies sold so far.

Top 5 Rap Songs on Billboard Charts

Below is the list of top 5 songs on the billboard rap songs chart-

5. Pitbull- Give Me Everything (feat ne-yo, afrojack &nayer)

4. Nicki Minaj- Super Bass

3. Big Sean feat Chris Brown- My Last

2. Lil Wayne- How To Love.

1. Dj Khaled featuring Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne- I'm On OneI'm On One [Explicit]

I think the only song that doesn't deserve to be on the charts is the lil wayne track- How To Love- That track is definitely not a rap song. Asides from that, every other track is where it should be.

Kool G Rap Names Rappers He Would Want in A Super Group

Rap Legend, Kool G Rap has come forward to name a couple of rappers he would consider if he were to put together a super group, and i think his list is quiet interesting. I know a couple of people don't know G Rap; He is from the era of the Rakim's, KRS 1, Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick- the mid to late 80s. And a lot credit him to be the originator of the multisyllabic rap style that you hear being used by AZ, Big Pun, and Eminem. He was also the popularizer of the street/mafioso narrative in rap, which rappers like Raekwon, Jay-Z and Nas took after. On jay-z's Encore song, he says- "Hearing me rap is like hearing G rap in his prime...".

A lot of rappers have openly said they were influenced by this rap veteran, and the list is endless, but i would just drop some you might be familiar with- Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, Rah Digga, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G, RZA, Raekwon, Memphis Bleek, Nas Kurrupt, Twista...

Before i get lost in telling you who he is, lets jump into what he had to say about forming a super rap group-

"Let's see, right now, G. Rap, Nas, Eminem," Kool G told SOHH when asked who would be in his dream rap group. "I can't ignore the fact that that boy Eminem is incredible. He's lyrically incredible. Anybody that's ever sat and fronted on this dude's talent is like, come on, man. Stop playing me. I'm a [hip-hop] nemesis and even I can't ignore the dude's talent level. I would say my man Jay-Z. We're talking lyricists right here. I'm talking real heavy weights. Not taking anything away from the cats out there because there are cats out there that are current that I like. I like T.I. and Rick Ross. But we're talking super rap groups, so I gotta go with the heavy weight lyricists that are undeniable on anybody's radar. I don't care what era we're in. You can't take Nas being a lyricist beat away from him." (SOHH)

Showing love for the newcomers, Kool G. Rap said Slaughterhouse's Joell Ortiz has proven to be worthy of joining his dream team.

"Nas did so much in the earlier part of his career that it holds weight," G. Rap added. "Nas and Jay-Z gotta definitely be in there. I think Eminem has shown and proved enough that he deserves a spot in the category of legendary lyricists including myself. If I had to snatch a new cat, it would have to be Joell Ortiz." (SOHH)

I think those are the last of a dying breed, for real. I might throw Raekwon in there, but that's just me. I think no one can fault his list; there are no other rappers in the game right now that are more lyrical than the people he mentioned...i guess that's why he stressed the fact that he was choosing off their lyrical abilities. If Big Pun was alive, he would definitely be on that list. I think joell ortizt should be honored he made that list.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Hell: The Sequel (Deluxe Version) [Explicit]Royce Da 5'9 and Eminem are still at the top with their Bad Meets Evil- Hell: The Sequel EP. They sold 30,000 copies this week, and are now at a total of 341,000. I am still waiting on them to shoot a video for Lighters, featuring Bruno Mars. The sales of the album would definitely sky rocket after that. But, there are still not doing so bad for an EP.

Big Sean is up next up with his Finally Famous: The Album, which sold 18,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 132,000 copies. Pitbull's Planet Pit album sold 15,000 copies and is now at a total of 117,000.

The Cool Kid's When Fish Ride Bicycle album, which features Bun B and Ghostface debuts on the charts this week, with 6,500 copies sold after one week in stores. MellowHype sold 6,200 copies of their BlackenedWhite album after one week in stores- they also debut on the chats this week.

Weekend At Burnies from Curren$y moved 3,700 copies this week, and now totals at 32,000 copies sold so far. Trae The Truth also debuts on the chats this week; his Street King album features, Whiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, Game Lupe Fiasco- it sold 2,600 copies after one week in stores.

Fat Joe Talks About Remy Ma, and Why She Hurt Him So Bad

The first time i heard Remy Ma was on Fat Joe's lean back song, and she was really dope. I thought she was super dope and i expected more, but, afterwards, i don't think she put in enough work to be considered a name to reckon with in the industry. Of cos she was popularly; there was no nicki minaj, and other female rappers (apart from lil kim) were just lay back, so it wasn't obvious that she wasn't working hard enough. So, when i heard she was beefing Fat Joe because he didn't help make her album successful, i confirmed that she was one of the type that like to shift blame on the next man when things don't go according to plan. Fat Joe has come forward to talk about how he feels about her, and why she hurt him so bad.

"I don't keep in contact with Remy," Joe revealed in an interview. "Me and Remy, we fell out. All I did for that girl was help her; make her rich; took her from the projects, single parent mom; put her on hit records; [and she] toured across the world with us. She was down with us, had a different car for every day of the week. When her album came out and it didn't do as good as she anticipated, she wanted to blame somebody. See, me, I don't run away. During my successes or my failures, I put it on me. You can't find an interview where I'm standing there talking about, 'Yo, this executive' [...] some people don't understand it's not an overnight success for everybody. It's a grind. It's happened for me. I make a great living -- a lot of artists make a great living. But, she, you know, she was getting real disrespectful with me and real disrespectful towards my family on the radio. I could never forgive Remy Martin. She really hurt my feelings." (XXL Mag)

I don't know why all the people Fat Joe helped (cuban links, tony sunshine..) are now going against him; i guess that's just his luck. I think the situation is the same way beanie sigel feels towards Jay-Z and the same way J-Hood feels towards kiss, styles and sheek...i guess people always like to have someone to point to when their careers don't do so good. But, i think it is all a matter of hard work and focus. As long as someone can sign you, and give you ample opportunity to blow up, you do not have any reason to blame the person for your short-comings.

I remember when Papoose and fat joe. had that beef back in 2008. Papoose and Remy had gotten on the radio with 50 cent, and started laughing at some jokes that 50 cent was making about fat joe. And at that time, remy ma was already beefing with Joe, so it only translated that they were riding with 50 against fat joe. It was just a pity how 50 used them to get at joe.

Ja Rule Gets More Jail Time

Ja Rule is presently serving time for gun possession charges, but more time has been added to that. On Monday, he was sentenced to 28 months on tax evasion charges. I just wonder why so many rappers always get caught in this web.

Rapper Jeffrey Atkins, also known as Ja Rule, was sentenced Monday to 28 months in prison for failing to file tax returns with the IRS after admitting that he did not file his taxes for five years, the Justice Department said in a news release Monday. The 35-year-old performer from Saddle River, New Jersey, had pleaded guilty to three of five counts before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz, who imposed the sentence in Newark federal court. (CNN)

Prior to receiving his sentence, Rule defended his past financial mistakes.
"I in no way attempted to deceive the government or do anything illegal," he said, minutes before being sentenced in a New Jersey federal court. "I was a young man who made a lot of money -- I'm getting a little choked up -- I didn't know how to deal with these finances, and I didn't have people to guide me, so I made mistakes." (Associated Press)

It is just so funny that on the same day DMX got out of jail, ja rule got more time on his head. They used to be friends before they bought blew up; then became enemies most part of their individual careers. But i guess they should be cool now. There was no real emotional situation with that one; it wasn't/isn't like the 50 cent and ja rule beef. I think it was just X thinking Jarule was jacking his style. They sound pretty much a-like on wax.

Check out what DMX said about his relationship with Ja Rule below-

...It was like, I was sitting in the front and his wife was behind me. And I looked back and I spoke to her. And when I turned around again—actually I was getting up to leave and he was sitting there. So people were already looking at us and knew that I didn’t know he was behind me. It was quiet. So when I turned around and seen him, I could feel all the eyes on me. And I was like ‘Yo watup man’ and gave him a pound and everybody started clapping...

...spoke briefly right there, but later on at the hotel we took a couple of flicks together. We cool, but he’s just not the type of nigga that I would hang with. He never was the type of nigga I would hang with. But we was cool. I’d work with you, and yeah we can go to the studio, but we just two different people.

I like how X is very direct with how he feels; he has nothing against ja rule any more, but it don't mean they would be hanging out together.

Drake Compliments Kreayshawn's Music Style.

Despite the fact that Kreayshawn might become competition for his label mate (nicki minaj) in the near future, Drake has gone ahead to cosign her style of music and says he hopes to work with her whenever she is ready. He says he is always inspired and happy when something new happens in hip hop; by something new, he is referring to Kreayshawn's Gucci Gucci song, which is very different from the usual type of music that has been coming out of the hip hop genre for a while. In case you didn't know, Kreayshawn is a new female rapper, and she signed a multi-million dollar contract with Columbia Records in June.

Read more on the story below-

"I honestly get excited when new things happen in hip-hop and when I heard 'Gucci Gucci,' I heard the flows, I was excited before I even knew who she was," the Young Money star told Invasion Radio. "And you know I got to hear a little bit more of the music beyond that and then to meet her and the energy that she has is great. She's just a great person. She's good people. That's my dog." Drizzy, who will release his sophomore album Take Care on October 24, is leaving the door open to a collaboration. "Anytime she's ready. I got bars on deck for that," he said of the Oakland-bred artist, calling her a "little cutie pie." "You're not so bad yourself there, Mr. Regularly Handsome," gushed a blushing Kreayshawn. (Rap-Up)

Hmm! About working with her, i don't know. I am trying to imagine drake rapping to the Gucci Gucci song, but i just can't make out a picture, but Drake is very versatile, so i guess if he feels he can work with her, then he would definitely make it possible. But i love the energy; i love when artist recognize other artists for their talents, and not just hate hate and hate all the time. This is good for hip hop.

DMX Released From Jail

DMX Was released from jail yesterday; i think that is great news. I just hope he stays out of trouble long enough to come with some fire. He hasn't released an album in over 5 years now, and people are beginning to crave for his style again. Last month, Rick Ross showed interest in signing X to his Maybach Music Group Label, X just let the word out that he is too big to be signed to ross's label, but he might consider the deal depending on what is in the package. You can read the news here- Rick Ross Wants DMX On Maybach Records

Read the full info on DMX's release below-

Rap star DMX is officially a free man, as the rapper was released from prison in Yuma, Arizona today (July 19th).

The rapper was greeted by a small group of friends and family upon his release today.

Sources close to DMX told AllHipHop.com that his first stop would be a visit to his probation officer, followed by a shopping trip.

Then, DMX is slated to take up residency in an unknown area of the state.

"I spoke to my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife," DMX told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. "I'm going to go see my daughter while the sun is up then I'm going to be in the studio man."

DMX, born Earl Simmons, was originally sentenced to one year in prison in December of 2010, after he violated his probation by refusing to submit to a drug test and other minor infractions.

He served seven months of the prison sentence, after being given credit for the 100 days he spent incarcerated awaiting trial.

“Our goal is to keep DMX on the right track, and get him back to work,” a member of DMX's inner circle told AllHipHop.com.

According to sources, DMX is currently lining up a number of shows and fielding offers for television, movie and recording projects.

Reps for DMX confirmed that he was in serious negotiations with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, although an official offer has yet to be made.

DMX is being managed by Built For War Management/UMMG (United Music & Media Group), while his bookings are handled by Carl "Blacksmif" Smith.

"Earl has so much more to offer the world. His latest project has been on hold for so long! It is now time for X to redefine the world of Hip-Hop with his highly anticipated album of inspirational, painful & street accredited rhymes. It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel," added his manager Nakia Walker.

If he can get his act together, and stay focused, i think he can make a good comeback.

Why Lupe Fiasco Called Obama The Biggest Terrorist

Several weeks ago, rap artist Lupe Fiasco called The President of The United States of America the Biggest Terrorist. The comment raised many eye-brows, and lupe gave his reasons for saying that; you can read it up here- lupe fiasco calls obama the biggest terrorist . But I was not satisfied with what he gave as reason; I knew his comment came from a deeper place than that.

Last month, I got his latest album on my phone, and I started really listening to him, and studying him generally. I must say, his Lasers album is the best Hip Hop album I have heard this year. Apart from the lyrical complexity he displays on the album, his political consciousness was very evident on it. There are songs like state run radio, all black everything, break the chain, , and words i never said where he becomes an activist with his words; whether for the black race or just the ill-treated and oppressed majority in the society. He delivers with a double-edged sword style; one side attacking the oppressors and the other uplifting the oppressed.

One song stands out, which tackles the root of the issue with Barack Obama- words i never said , he mentions Obama's name directly...Gaza Strip was gettin bombed, Obama didn't say shit
That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either
….

Gaza strip is the part of Palestine that borders with Israel; the part Israel bombs on a consistent basis…almost like they are doing target practice with the place. The war there is both a religious and tribal war. Israel was giving the portion of land they currently occupy in 1948, and the place had always been occupied by the Palestinians, so, you can see that there is a problem there. And, the Israelites are Jews, while the Palestinians are Moslems.

Coincidentally, I watched this movie in-between writing this article- Valley of the Wolves: Iraq, and it depicts Israelites as irrational, ruthless, power hungry people that would like to wipe out all the Palestinians if given the chance. You see, I had never heard this side of the story before. Most of the general population of the world get their news about the world from CNN, so maybe we don't know what is really going on. This is a rap blog, and I am not very politically inclined myself, so I would just stop here. I just wanted to bring out the point that Lupe Fiasco’s real reason for calling Obama the biggest terrorist is/was because he is a Moslem, and Obama and the U.S in a whole are against Moslems…or , put in better context, Arabs all over the world. I think Lupe is putting Obama in a tight corner, because i think he is just one man in a democratically run country; even though he is the president, his decisions are still really based on what the people want, and what the people want, or what they think they want is based on the president before Obama made them believe they want.

In his Lyrics on the WORDS I NEVER SAID song, when he said Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit…he was referring to Obama as a senator, before he ran for President in 2008.  On that same song, he says- Jihad is not holy war, where's that in the worship?
Murdering is non-Islam and you are not observant ('servant ...)
And you are not a Muslim…

It is clear that Lupe is re-educating the world on what they have been taught to believe. Personally, I see no difference in the people that bomb back the people that bomb them, so you can say I am on the fence…I have always been on the fence on issues like this. I like to be very logical, and I know no one would bomb a place unless they have been attacked one way or the other by the people of that place. This whole war with U.S and the Arab countries would continue until the two parties learn to respect their individual values, and just leave each other alone. Arabs should live the U.S with the way of life which they consider immoral, and the U.S should leave the Arab's oil alone. When that happens, we would have a peaceful world…at least until something else comes up.

Foxy Brown Offered $2 Million To Pose Nude For Playboy Magazine

Hugh Hefner has always been a big spender, and he is offering Foxy Brown $2 Million to pose nude for the cover of his Playboy Magazine. I knew Hefner had money, but i didn't know he could still shell out this much for a cover shoot. Men, i think that is some cool cash for foxy. Read what she has to say about the offer below-

“I live a different life,” she says. “I’m not at every party; I’m not seen everywhere. That’s why people still care about my brand. I’ve never whored myself out.”

She says she’s still debating whether to accept Hugh Hefner’s $2 million offer to pose on the cover of Playboy.

Brown says she plans to release a long-delayed album in 2011. She is also suing New York City for $100,000 for civil-rights violations, false arrest and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

If she’s no longer the star she was in the ’90s, Brown said she’s proud of where she is today.

“I’ve never stabbed, hurt, killed, stolen, anything,” she says. “But I went to jail for a year. What is that? My pastor said to me the fact that I’m not living under a bridge as a crazy woman, talking to myself, is amazing.”

I can remember seeing Lil Kim in a black see-through dress in the video for puffy's All About The Benjamins video, and thinking wow! Then, months later, i saw Foxy Brown wearing that same type of dress in the Firm Biz video (with AZ and Nas) and she wasn't wearing any underwear- so, right now, i am thinking, this would not really be new to foxy...i think she should take the offer.

I am not hating on her, but her career ain't where it used to be, and this money would do a hell lot for her. $2 Million!!? I could start a business with that down here and feed thousand homeless people yearly with my profits.

Joie Chavis, Bow Wow's Baby Mama Speaks Out on TMZ

Joie Chavis suddenly became more popular last week when the world got to know that Bow Wow had a baby, and she was the mother of his baby. She has come forward to speak on the news TMZ put out last week, claiming she had omitted bow wow's name from their child's birth certificate. Read below what she had to say about the mater.

"I wasn't gonna address this because I'm tired of the drama but, I DID not take my daughter's birth certificate to TMZ, nor did I contact them for an interview. I was put in an uncomfortable spot. They practically backed me into a corner saying they were going to run a story anyway. I was asked a question, answered it truthfully and somehow my words were twisted and manipulated. I in no way wish to speak badly of my child's father and definitely would not leak my daughter's birth certificate which I myself don't even have in my own possession!" (Necole Bitchie)

I know how she most feel; people like to hear bad news, and the people at websites like TMZ would stop at nothing to publish a sensational news like that, especially when her name started popping-up on search engines all through last week. You can read the story they put out last week about her-

Bow Wow's baby mama was so pissed that he was MIA during the birth of their baby, and the days that followed -- she 86'd him from the baby's birth certificate. Joie Chavis tells TMZ ... she was shocked that B.W. wasn't there for her when she went under the knife for an emergency C-section on April 27. And if Bow Wow's excuse was squeamishness, it didn't explain his absence in the days that followed. He finally showed up on the 6th day of the baby's life, to take them home. Pissed as she was, Joie tells us Bow Wow has turned it around and now is all about baby Shai. Joie says she's now willing to let bygones be bygones and put Bow Wow on the document, but it's going to take a judge to make that happen. (TMZ)

I guess when you are in the limelight, you private live is no longer private. I must confess though, the girl is HOT!!!
