Juelz Santana Speaks on Lil Wayne Collabo Album

Apparently, Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne had plans of making an album together sometime in 2009, but i guess their individual schedules didn't allow them work it out, but i guess they are both geared up for it now. Read what Juelz Santana had to say about the album below-

“It’s something that Me and Wayne been working on —a project that we been promoting the name,” he said. “So you know —Me and Wayne, we actually talked and decided that it was the perfect time to get together. We just piecing together the music that we already had—that people ain’t hear— along with—he sent me about eight new records.”

but Juelz says that they still have a handful in the stash and plan to hit the studio to record more.
Many of the records from sessions leaked over the years,
“Me and Wayne did about 45 records. So just as many records that leaked before, we had still about 20 records that didn’t leak. Now we gonna do about another 20, 30 records just to make sure the album’s what it’s supposed to be.
“I think the people that want to hear that album want to hear just me and Wayne,” he continued. “I think the best thing for us to do would just be to get with some great producers.”

Cool! I would definitely pick that up when it drops. I have always been a fan of Juelz, and i always believed he had better punchlines than Wayne...or at least ones i can relate to, so i would love for him to get that exposure...that world-wide exposure, and show the people that their is another crazy kid on the block...that has been on the block for a while now.

J.Cole's Cole World: The Sideline Story Projected to Sell 225,000 First Week

Roc Nation's J.Cole just dropped his debut album (27th Oct), and after a day in stores, Cole World: The Sideline Story is projected to sell between 225-250k first week based on first day estimates from hitsdailydouble.com. I think this is really impressive, because i had earlier predicted it would sell between 60-130k first week. And even at that, people that read it on my blog were saying that they don't think it would sell more than 50k.

You see, as well as J.Cole is respected as a young dope lyricist that has come to save hip hop, no one thought he would sell this much. I guess his two singles, Work Out, and Can't Get Enough, which are tracks for the ladies did the magic. You shouldn't forget that he has the looks, and it sure is the ladies that buy albums these days.

Yeah, and one more thing; i think the one dollar a ticket show he did last week helped out too. Anyway, i just have to say i am happy for his success, and congratulations to the whole Roc Nation team.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Chart

Lil Wayne is still at the top- Carter 4 is the highest selling rap album for the week, and it sold 84,000 copies. This is its 4th week out, and it is now at a total of 1,385,000 copies so far.I think it is not bad, and if he can sustain this selling range for the next couple of week, he would definitely be closing-up selling 2 million copies.

Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne collabo album is next up- selling 31, 000 copies this week, the album now totals at 902,000 copies sold so far. They would be plat in about 3 weeks.

Hell:The Sequel, the EP from Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce Da 5'9) sold 12,000 copies this week, to now stand at a total of 541,000. Game's The R.E.D Album sold 8,600 copies, and is now at a total of 176,000.  Eminem also sold 8,600 copies of his Recovery Album, to now total at 4,040,000 copies. Z-Ro debuts on the chat this week with his new album, Meth, which sold 5,400 copies after one week in stores.

Everybody Loves Ice Prince Album Cover Revealed

One of the hottest rappers on the Nigerian Hip Hop scene, Ice prince is dropping his debut album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince on October 9th. After his smash singles, 'Oleku', and 'Superstar', his album has become the most anticipated album of the year.

Below is the album cover, and we are still waiting on the official tracklist of the album. But it would definitely feature his other Chocolate City Records colleagues like the undisputed M.I, and Jesse Jagz.

That's a pretty cool cover art, don't you think?

Carter 4 4th Week Sales

Carter 4 has been out 4 full weeks now, and this week it sold an impressive 84,000 copies. I think this is really impressive, because after selling 119,000 copies last week, i thought it would drop to like 50k this week. If it can continue at this rate, it would sell two million in no time.

Carter 4 is still the highest selling rap album on the billbord chart, and it is at number 5 on the overall billboard top 200 album chart. So far, Carter 4 has sold a total of 1,385,000 copies in 4 weeks.

Drake Reveals Album Cover for Take Care

Drake has been dropping good music all year, and he dropped the lead single to his second album (Take Care), Headlines several weeks ago. The album is due out next month, and he hit the internet hours ago to officially reveal the album cover for the Take Care Album.

He also took time to drop some words for his fans-

Feels like it's been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24...I wouldn't miss it for the world.
See you soon.
Drake (October's Very Own)

Ice Prince

Ice Prince is a Nigerian Rapper that is currently on the rise in his country, and about to blow up into the international market. He had been doing the Rap thing underground for many years, but it wasn't until he got with other superstar rappers, M.I and his brother Jesse Jagz in 2004 that his rap career started taking shape. He is signed to Chocolate City Records (the same label that houses M.I and Jesse Jagz). His first big exposure came as a guest on M.I's Blaize track off the Talk About It album in 2008.

His real name is Panshak Zamani, which explains why he is sometimes called Ice Prince Zamani. He was born in Minna, Niger state in Nigeria, but his family moved to Jos, in Plateau state when he was 2 years old. He has since moved down to Lagos, where is considered the music capital of Nigeria.

He has been featured by other top Nigerian artist like Banky W, Kel, Terry Ta Rapman, Wizkid, Mo Cheddah, YQ, and Suspect just to mention a few. But, his career sky-rocketted after he released his first official single last year; Oleku was released sometime in 2010, and it became the biggest track of the year. The success led to high anticipations for his debut album. He has since released a second single titled 'superstar', and shot a very colorful video for the song in 2011.

Ice Prince is finally going to drop his first album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince on 0ctober 9 2011.

DJ Drama Says T.I Is Ready to Drop New Single

T.I was released to a Half-Way home last week, and DJ Drama has come forward to say that the self-acclaimed KING OF THE SOUTH is ready to drop a new single.

"Tip just came home. I was in the studio with him," Drama said. "He's actually about to drop a new song next week." He explained that although Tip is in a halfway home, he's still able to produce music. "He's in a halfway house but when you're in a halfway house you can still get to work. So he's been in the studio during work time and he's banging out. Actually [his time in the halfway house] ends next week. So he'll be in the streets by the B.E.T. Hip Hop
 Awards." (Power 105.1)

I think that is some good news, because i know T.I puts his heart into his music. He is not into quantity, but quality. I guess it is now up to T.I and Nas to take over the 4th quarter. But i am hearing some news that Jay-Z might be dropping his follow up to Blueprint 3 in the 4th quarter as well.

Wellcome home T.I, and make sure you don't get into any more troubles. Now, it's time to go to work and start building your legacy again.

J.Cole To Perform A Dollar a Ticket Show

J.Cole, who's album (Cole World: The Sideline Story) recently leaked on the internet, is planning a concert where he would sell tickets for $1. Hmm! Is that a good way of marketing or what? I think it is great. His album is to drop next week, but has already leaked on the internet.

Cole will perform this Sunday (September 25) in New York City for a $1 entry fee, reports XXLMag.com. The show will take place at the Roseland Ballroom.

The aptly-titled A Dollar and a Dream concert are on sale now at three Jimmy Jazz locations in the city: two in Harlem on 132 West 125th Street and 239 West 125th Street, and in Brooklyn at 442 Fulton Street.
Tickets will also go on sale at noon the day of the show at the Roseland Ballroom. The show starts at 7:00 PM.

There will be an official New York signing for Cole World on Tuesday (September 27) at 6:00 PM at J&R Music World. Fans will have to pre-order the disc at the store to get their album signed. (hiphopdx.com)

Common Says Nas Is His Favourite Rapper

Common was asked who his favourite rapper is at a recent interview, and he named Nas.  Well, that is his choice, so no one has to disagree with him. He didn't say Nas is the Greatest Rapper, he just said Nas is his favourite. He definitely has reasons for saying that, unlike a lot of people that have that "sheep state of mind" mentality.

You can what he said below-

“I would say Nas, that’s my favorite rapper. It’s tough, because [Jay-Z] is one of the greatest and many can argue,” he said, “but Nas is so poetic with it and I feel like his lyrics, you can write them down on paper and they will last for time. It would be like literature that we read.”

I totally agree with him on that one. And a lot of people that are really into the art will agree with that. Sometimes, it is not about making the hits that no one would care about 5-10 years times; it is about making that timeless music, and sure, Nas makes that.

Nas and Common recently collabed on a track, Ghetto Dreams, and there is talks of a full length collabo album in the making.

And yeah, by the way, that pic is from the photo-shoot of one of Fat Joe;s videos from 1995.

First Week Sales Prediction of Cole World: The Sideline Story

J.Cole's debut album (Cole World: The Sideline Story) is finally dropping next week(Sept 27) , and it has some people guessing on how it would do in stores. There are two singles out from the album Work Out, and Can't Get Enough. Although these songs are not typical of what you would hear from Cole, fans are still hopeful that he dropped those for album publicity reasons, and that the real Cole would be on the album. I am going to attempt to predict what this album would do in its first week.

J.Cole doesn't have any albums out, so i am going to do this off the buzz surrounding this album. Although it has been expected for a while now (since he signed with Roc Nation in 2009), he doesn't have that huge buzz that someone like Drake had...or a B.O.B had, so he would most likely sell lower than they did. Drake sold over 400k of his Thank Me Later debut in its first week in stores , and b.o.b sold about 80k in his first week. I will say J.Cole would sell between 60-130k copies in his first week out with Cole World: The Sideline Story.

Fat Joe Speaks on New Mixtape (The Drak Side, Vol 2.) And 11th Album

Fat Joe has been in the game since 1993 (He dropped his first album- Represent in 93); you know that is a long time, so you have to give him the props for that, if not for anything else. Except making headlines for his massive weight loss, he has gone off the hip hop scene for a while. It was kinda like Rick Ross stole that Fat Rapper identity from him and ran with it. It is all good though; Joe is a good dude, and has nothing but love for the Game. He has popped up on the scene once again, this time to announce the release of his new mixtape, The Dark Side, Vol 2. Which is a follow up to his last album. I guess he figured people weren't down with the raw hip hop shit he dropped on that The Dark Side, Vol 1 album; So he turned the follow up to a mixtape for the streets...but his 11th album is also on the way.

Read what he had to say about his new mixtape and the new album below-

“We have the mixtape The Darkside, Vol. 2. We gonna drop the mixtape no later than two-and-a-half-weeks. That’s coming out super hard though. Not ever regular hard. It’s gonna be the hardest mixtape out; nothing nice about it. The mixtape is too hard. Shit coming out like what a street anthem mixtape should sound like. This is my first mixtape. We’re gonna put it out as a mixtape and hit the people with that raw, street, Joe Krill.”
“We gonna have them joints on the mixtapes then we gonna have some new shit,” he promised. “Crazy new shit! Then we working on the album too. We haven’t named it yet. The first single with Chris Brown is retarded. It’s called ‘Another Round,’ produced by Cool and Dre and Young Lad. We got joints [on the album] produced by Rico Love; it’s sounding great. With the album, we’re gonna make that music that everyone can relate too. It’s still gonna be hard, but it’s gonna be hit mania. You know exactly what it is. The joint with Chris Brown is a super joint. I got another joint I’m trying to get Maxwell on. You know, I’m talking to the ladies. I lost that weight, I gotta talk to them.”

If there is one thing i trust Fat Joe for, it is making Club Bangers, so i do not doubt whatever he says about his upcoming single with Chris Brown. I guess everybody be using Chris Brown now for their hooks. Anyway, back to fat joe- the other thing i like about this man is his love for hip hop. he knows what people want to here on radio, so he gives them that (to stay relevant), but when you get his album, you get the feel of that raw joe...that raw hip hop. I think it is inspiring to know that he still wants to keep dropping album; his last 3 albums didn't do so well commercially. But, they were pretty great albums though.

Rap Albums on Billboard Chart

Lil Wayne's Carter 4 is still the highest selling rap album on the Billboard chart; it sold 117,000 copies this week, and now totals at 1,301,000 copies after 3 weeks on the chart. If it can steady around 100k, and sell that for 5-8 weeks, he would be double platinum in 2 months or there about.
Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne sold 36,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 872,000 copies so far. Bad Meets Evil (Royce Da 5'9 & Eminem) are up next with their Hell: The Sequel EP which sold 13,000 copies this week, to total at 529,000 copies.

Game's The R.E.D Album sold 12,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 168,000 copies total. I think this is a very unfortunate case for Game. I know him for Taunting other rappers low sales in the past; i guess what goes around comes around. And, on a serious note, i do feel for Game, cos i am a big fan. I am very sure his last minute disses at Jay-Z is a major cause of his album flopping. Either Jay made some moves on him in the industry, or people were just pissed at him for going at Jay...a second time, and after saying he wouldn't do that again. I really think Game needs to get himself together.

Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday album sold 8,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 1,581,000 copies so far. Planet Pit from Pitbull sold 6,800 copies to now total at 213,000 copies. Whole Truth from Rapper Da T.R.U.T.H comes in on the chart this week with 4,600 copies sold.

50 Cent Speaks on Ray J and Fabolous Feud

Ray J and Fabolous had some issue over the weekend after the Floyd Mayweather fight, and it so happened that 50 cent and Mayweather were standing by Ray J while the whole thing happened. Apparently, Fab had said some not too nice things about Ray J over twitter, and as he approached 50 Cent to holla at him, And Ray J used the opportunity of being in the company of two heavyweights to try and start up something with Fabolous. 50 Cent was there through the whole thing, and this is what he had to say-

"[Ray J] pushed at [Fabolous]. Soon as he came, he tapped him on both shoulders and said, 'I told you my peoples weren't gonna like that.' Then, there was that swing he's talking about...There was a swing but it didn't land on nothing so you can't call it a punch. Ray J did swing at him [but] if he connected, [Fabolous] would have had a mark on him or something."
He also noted that Ray J may have been drinking before this took place.
"I think he had a little bit of juice in him. You know what I'm saying? I think Ray had a little something."

So, i guess we have the full story now. What blew this whole thing up was Ray J calling into Power 105.1 Breakfast Club show on Monday morning claiming to have punched Fabolous in the face. He did later call in, the next day to apologize and say he took it too far...that he lost control. I guess he was high on something; 50 Cent did say he most have been juiced up on something.

I listened to the interview on Hot 97 with Funk Master Flex where 50 Cent narrated the whole issue; he tried to be very diplomatic, but he did let some things slip. Like he talked about how he had to get in the middle of the whole scuffle because he was familiar with the guys Fab was with and he knew things would definitely get ugly. He also talked about how Fab was looking at him like- 'you need to put a leash on your dude, cos he is really thinking his tuff'; that kind of look. He also said fab said- "you are going to get this guy killed". Apparently fab was shocked that Ray J would have the nerve to even put his hands on him...whether he was high or not. Fabolous knew Ray J was probably drunk or high, and banking on the fact that he was with 50 cent, that he could get away with hitting Fabolous.

Anyway, Ray J has apologized, and said he lost control, so lets dead the story.

Tha Carter 4 Third Week Sales

Lil Wayne's Carter 4 has been out over three weeks now, and the sales of the third week just came in; Carter 4 sold 117,000 copies in its third week. It sold 964,000 copies in its first week, and 219,000 copies in its second week, and with 117,000 copies sold this week, it is now at a total of 1,300,000 copies so far.

Okay, the rate at which the sales is going, i hope it makes it to 3 million copies overall. But, for sure, it will make it to 2 million copies.

Lil Wayne Is The Michael Jackson of Hip Hop

Reading through his biography, I consider Lil Wayne the Michael Jackson of Hip Hop. The quality I have picked in both artist that make them similar is that they bought started in the music industry at a very young age, and have remained there since then (in the case of Michael, till his death). Michael Jackson started singing at the young age of 5 with his other brothers in the group, The Jackson 5; and he later went on to do his solo career, where he got his most success. Lil Wayne was signed at the age of 12 years old to Cash Money Records in 1993, and he became popular with the Hot Boyz (together with Young Turk, Juvenile and B.G) at the age of 14 (1997-1999). He started his own solo career at 16, and has been giving his whole life to hip hop since then.

Lil Wayne, just like Michael Jackson, hasn’t done any other thing with his life than rap. He has released 7 solo rap albums, one EP, and one Rock album so far. He has also been on 3 group albums with the Hot Boyz. And he also, since his solo career, has released countless mixtapes (Between 10-13).  He has a cult following that have made sure that his last two studio albums (Tha Carter 3 & Tha Carter 4) sold a million copies after just one week out in stores. He holds the record for the most guest appearances on other people’s songs since he gained prominence with his solo career in the mid-00s. It is almost like he never runs out of energy or ideas; he is on almost every hot song on Radio.

So far, Lil Wayne has dedicated 17 years of his 29 years on earth to the music industry, and he is not planning to stop anytime soon. This man lives, eats, breaths Hip Hop. There is a high probability that he might just crash psychologically if he ever stopped doing music. I do not think there is another rapper that has dedicated so much of his life to hip hop, and that’s why I have concluded that- Lil Wayne is The Michael Jackson of Hip Hop.

J.Cole Comments on Album Leak

J.Cole's Cole World:The Sideline story recently leaked on the internet, and he has come forward to comment on it, saying it could serve a good purpose.

“I feel blessed. There’s been worse leaks than that so I understand it’s a part of the game, I always understood that. As long as people hear it together, it’s cool,” he said. “And I just know that the people who are going to buy it were going to buy it anyways. The people who weren’t probably weren’t, anyways. If anything, the leak will reach out to more people who might be like ‘ah man, let’s go get this.' So you know, it's kind of like promotion these days—if you got a good album. If you don't have a good album—they'll just trash you.”

Cole, whose album goes on pre-sale on iTunes today, is more excited about the fact that his debut will finally hit stores.

“I’m just excited. Of course I’ve got some nerves. It’s only natural to have nerves, but I’m really more excited and proud. I can’t believe I’m actually going to have a CD that’s in stores. I got a long way to go in the game, but that’s definitely a day where I’ll be able to pat myself on the back - which I don’t do often.”

I have not heard it yet, but if i do see a link to download it, i would definitely still buy it when it drops next week. Although i am not too impressed with the 2 singles off the album, i think, judging from his past mixtapes, that he would definitely have some real dope hip hop tracks on the album.

Ray J Apologises To His Fans

After hitting up radio yesterday morning and talking reckless about punching Fabolous in the face, Ray J hit up to twitter last night to apologize to his fans for what he had earlier said on The Power 105.1 Breakfast Club show.

I want to apologize to my fans that might have been offended by the things I said on the radio today. I lost control.
Sep 20 via webFavoriteRetweetReply

So, what i am thinking right about now is- what exactly is he saying? Is he saying that he never hit Fabolous in the face, or that he is sorry for coming on radio to talk about the whole issue?

The New Breed of West Coast Rappers

This is 2011, and there is a new breed of West Coast rappers on the rise...and no, they are not gangsta rappers. Several weeks ago, Crooked I, also a west coast rapper, commented on the new breed, and said he was glad that they were moving away from the west coast stereo type of gangsta music...64 Chevy's, chuck taylors and all that. The west brought gangsta rap to the fore front in the 80s with NWA, and through the mid 80s to the early 90s, Ice Cube, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg helped to build on the popularity of the style of rap music, but it saw its decline in the tail end on the mid 90s when the east took over rap reign.

After the fall, the west kept doing their thing, even though they were nolonger gaining radio airplay and nationwide attention like they did back in the 80s and 90s. The only other rapper from the west that rose to the limelight from the west in recent times doing their traditional gangsta music was Compton California rapper Game, but he also has seen a decline in commercial success since his 2005. Now, the west has a new breed of rappers coming to re-brand the coast; you have Kendrick Lamar, Kreayshawn, Lil B, and Tyler, The Creator.

You can not put a label on all the names i mentioned above and say this is the new unique style of west coast rap; they are all individually doing their thing, and it is definitely not Gangsta rap. Kendrick is from Compton, but his message is very conscious type, sort of like a nas lyrically, with an insane flow. Tyler is doing his eminem type of rap. Kreayshawn is doing her pop rap; and Lil B is just doing him. You still have new rappers like Jay Rock, and Nipsey Hustle sticking to the gansta rap signature that the west is known for, but it is clear from where their career's are that they would probably not taste mainstream success.

So, what would the new west do with it? First of all, like Crooked I, i have to say i am happy that a notable amount of rappers from the west have become popular in recent times, and that they have their own unique flavours. And it is also cool that Game, who is a link between the old and new featured two of the new rappers on his just released R.E.D Album- Kendrick Lamar on The City, and Tyler on Martians vs Goblins. I think this is the rise of a new West, and it is just good for Hip Hop in a whole. Hip Hop never died, it has just been evolving.

Ray-J Claims To Have Punched Fabolous In The Face

R&B singer Ray J called into Power 105.1's breakfast Club show Monday morning and ranted on about how he punched Fabolous in the face over the weekend. I am just wondering what would have lead to this, but you can read up what he said below-

"I'ma smack you up again, fool! 'Ray J got beat up?' I'll sock that n*gga in the face, my n*gga," Ray J told DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God. "All I'm saying is if you got Fab's number, tell that n*gga to send you a picture of his face right now...I'm with the Money Team right now. I swear to God he's running from me right now...[After I hit him,] he fell back because he's a sucker -- Fab ain't no comedian. My homie saved his life when he was in LA so how dare you even speak disrespectful to me. So when I seen him, I was with Floyd [Mayweather] and 50 [Cent] and he tried to say 'Don't touch me' and I [punched] that n*gga -- If you disrespect me, don't come to the West Coast. So he in Las Vegas and he tried to disrespect me?" ("The Breakfast Club")

It kind of sounds believeable, but lets check out what fabolous had to say about the whole issue.

Fabolous called into his old pal DJ Clue's 105.1 radio show to clarify issues

"Who called in, Tupac?" Fab said sarcastically referring to Ray J's initial Monday morning rant. "Tupac called in? That wasn't Ray J. You can't be serious. That wasn't Ray J. That wasn't him. That wasn't Willy Norwood Jr. That wasn't him. That wasn't Brandy brother...It was no fight, it was no swing -- This whole story that he made up, that Tupac rant about him swinging on somebody and all of that sh*t is all lies. It's all, high on coke, on that Whitney. That's all on that Whitney last night. Ain't no swings take place. You can ask the Money Team. The Money Team was standing right there. Ask the Money Team that hes probably the water boy for -- There's nothing to squash. We can progress in our own ways. He can go his way and I can go my way. He can continue playing the piano at Floyd's crib if he wants and I'll continue to do what I do and he can continue to do concerts in n*ggas living rooms all he wants." (Power 105.1)

I am scratching my head right now...i can't make out who is lying...what really happened? I think the only thing i can make out of it was that Ray J threw an unexpected punch at Fabolous, hit him in the face, and got his ass whooped by Fab's crew. I think that's the only logical explanation for the whole thing. Really, one on one, Ray J might get Fab, but he definitely don't want it on the streets with Fab.

Tupac's Work Ethic

Tupac, Rapper/Actor died at just 25 years old; a quarter through life, but what he accomplished in those years, especially in his early 20s is just incredible. He was murdered after a Tyson fight in Las Vegas (Sept of 96), but 8 posthumous albums have dropped since then. Adding that to the 5 he had before his death (the 5th was released shortly after his death), that would make it 13 albums. He was the highest selling rapper of all time, until Eminem took over that title recently. His 13 albums have sold a cumulative 75 million copies worldwide. All this achievements show how "second to none" his work ethic was.

A lot of people close to him said he kept talking about death, sort of like he knew he was going to die soon. I guess that's what made him put in so much and achieve that much in such a short time. In between Rapping, he also stared in a couple of movies; Juice (1992), Poetic Justice (1993), and Above The Rim (1994), all before his death in 1996. And Bullet (1996, a month after his death), Gridlock'd (1997) and Gang Related (1997). WOW! Did this man ever take a break?

I was inspired to write this article after i watched a documentary on mycomeup.com which showed a couple of interviews of Studio Engineers, and other entertainment industry people that worked closely with Tupac. One of the people interviewed was a studio engineer at Track Records Studios in L.A, where Tupac recorded a song for the Mike Tyson fight the Friday before he was brutally shot. Scot said they got a call on Wednesday that Tupac would be coming in to record the song, and that they were to work on the beat, and make sure they had everything ready before he worked in.  He said after Tupac recorded the Tyson song, he asked him- "Okay, is that it"? and he told Pac that they were just asked to do one track. Pac asked him how long they had the studio for, and he said they still had it for another 10 hours. Pac then said since he wasn't going off to Las Vegas for another 6 hours or so, he might as well make good use of the time. They ended up recording two more songs...that were finished and ready for radio.

The story above just shows you how much of a workaholic Tupac was. It also makes people understand where all those songs from his posthumous albums came from.  Another studio engineer that was interviewed narrated the first experience he had recording with Tupac and how he had under-estimated his work ethics. He said he had taken a small break off after recording one song with Pac, and when he got back in the studio Pac was vexed and he threw his rhyme book at him, and shouted out- "You m****f****r, don't you ever leave this studio again."

I think there would never be another Tupac. I think you can measure his work ethic by comparing how much more of his albums dropped after his death compared to other rappers that passed away like The Notorious B.I.G and Big Pun. To even think he recorded the last album he worked on before his death, The Don Killuminati; The 7 Day theory in just 8 days is incredible. As they say, you can build on the strength of your brain, just like you can build your muscles; i think Tupac really stretched the mark. His creativity was unmatched. That is why he is legendary. That is why he is being studied in so many Universities; and that's why he would forever live on. R.I.P Tupac Amaru Shakur.

Will Smith's Wife, Jada Pinkett Smith Cloaks 40

Will Smith's Wife, Jada Pinkett Smith cloaked 40 yesterday, Sept 18. People were expecting a big celebration since 40 is a big birthday year, but nothing was confirmed. She probably spent the time with her family. They have been married since 1997, and they they have two kids together; Willow and Jaden, who are also in the entertainment industry.

Speaking of Will and Jada, there has been a lot of rumour of them splitting. I don't think this could be so, since they have a open marriage...they can sleep with whoever they want as long the one doing the sleeping tells the other. Hmm! So, what more can a man ask for? lol! Although a lot of people would go against this and argue how wrong it is, but if you count the amount of divorce cases in the world right now, you might re-consider your opinion on the matter.

Me personally, i think it would be great if i can actually do that with my wife. I look around and see men cheating all the time...lying to their wives and all that. I am sure if they knew all they had to do was ask, and if they got permission, they could go about and do what they wanted, then divorce cases would reduce. And with time they wont feel the need to even sleep around after a while. Because if you really weigh it, you would know that man has the urge to cheat most times because he feels it is interesting, and he is bored with just his wife. Once in a while, people in relationships, or in matrimonial homes would see someone they fancy, and if the person fancies them too, what is wrong with a little nibbling of the cake, without going all the way with the baker?

There is a part of my country Nigeria where a man gives out one of his wives to a guest who wants to spend the night in his house. Can you beat that?

Nas Has The Forth Quarter to Prove His Greatness

Nas is currently working on the completion of his 10th album, which is yet to be titled (was formerly titled LIFE IS GOOD). Nas would have a upper hand if he can drop in the forth quarter, because there are not really any more big rap releases till next year (except Drake's Take Care in October). I think if he can work on getting the album out by November or December, it would give him enough room to dominate the chats, and for people to pay more attention to him.

He has never really been a huge commercial rapper, but there is just a void in Hip Hop right now, that his style of music can feel. And if he can come with an incredible album, it would be the better. His most commercial tracks have been 'Hate Me Now' with Puffy, and If I Ruled The World with Lauryn Hill- lets see if he has tracks like that on this album.

He has only dropped a street single, "Nasty" so far, but there has been word that he has a track with Frank Ocean, AZ, and maybe Common for the album.  And he might just as well go ahead and use the Nasty song as the lead single, a lot of people just think it is not banging enough...it is not a song that radio would want to play 5 times in an hour. He has already shot the video for the Nasty track in August, so lets see how much buzz the video can create for nas. The pics you are seeing all over the page are from the video shoot in Queens New York.

I do have a feeling Nas is going to capitalize on the forth quarter; if you checked his other album releases, you would know that he has never really been a summer person, but always dropping in the winter...mostly in December. This is going to be his 10th album, and his 17th year in the game since dropping Illmatic in 1994. Let's see what Nas can do with it. Of course there is Drake coming up, but that is going to be in October, and that would definitely have lost some steam by October.

M.I

M.I is a Nigerian Rapper; many consider him the best in the country presently. His real name is Jude Abaga, and he rose into prominence in 2008. Although his first single to hit radio, Crowd Mentality was released in 2006, it wasn't until his song, Blaze hit radio that he became a household name. The track featured his other Loopy Crew members, Jesse Jagz (who is his brother, and doubles as his beat maker) and Ice Prince. Just as people were guessing if he had more tricks up his sleeves, he dropped the track that brought him to limelight, Safe. The track showed his Mastery of the lay-back, punchline filled rap style popularized by lil wayne.

His debut album, Talk About It dropped at the tail-end of 2008, and it has been no looking back for M.I since then. He is signed to Chocolate City Records, and has dropped 2 albums and one mixtape so far. Illegal Music (the mixtape) was dropped in 2009, and his second album, M.I 2 dropped in 2010. Although, a lot of people criticized the album for not being on the the same lyrical level as his first, it went on to become the highest selling album (digital) copies of any Nigerian artist on notjustok.com (a music merchant online) since they started operating.

He is presently working on his second mixtape, illegal music 2, which he plans to drop before the year ends (2011). Since his debut in 2008, his other label mates, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz have latched on to his popularity and have gathered followers of their own. Jesse Jagz dropped his debut album, Jagz Of All Trades in 2010. And Ice Prince has had one of the biggest songs in the country this year, with his Oleku single. Ice Prince debut, Everybody Loves Ice Prince is due to drop on Oct 8.

Modenine and Ruggedman are two rivalry Nigerians rappers that were holding the hip hop scene before M.I came in the game at the end of the last decade; the former was more of the lyrical type, while the later was more into making commercial radio friendly tracks- M.I became a blend of the two, and that was why he could rise so high so quickly. It was like the world had been waiting for him. Although his first album was very commercial (selling 30,000 copies in its first 30 minutes of release), it also showed his lyrical prowess; and when M.I 2 dropped, the real hip hop listeners were disappointed at his tilt towards more commercial radio friendly tracks.

At the moment, the only other rapper that is in the limelight enough to compete with M.I for the title of The Best Rapper in Nigeria is Naeto C, and the argument is on on every blog and forum about who is the better rapper. They bought have released two albums so far, and have enjoyed huge commercial success.

Since he got into the Nigerian music scene in 2008, M.I has been nominated for numerous awards and has won a handful. He was nominated for two MTV Africa Music Awards in 2009, and Best International Act at the 2010 BET Awards. He has won awards awards in Nigeria such as-Best Rap Single, 2008, Hip Hop World Awards; Best Rap Album, 2009, Hip Hop World Awards; Artist of The Year, National Daily 2010; Musician of The Year, The Future Awards 2010.

Master P Speaks on New Artist; Miss Chee

Master P, the legendary producer that was very popular in the 90s for being so rich off his No Limit Records is back again. He is promoting a new female rapper named Miss Chee, and he claims that she is the best female emcee out right now. I don't know about that, but i havent heard anything from her yet, so i can't comment on his comments. I read this interview they (miss chee, and master p) did i think you would enjoy reading it...something different for a change.

AllHipHop.com: What did you see in Miss Chee that made you want to sign her?

Master P: Miss Chee is the beat female artist in the game right now. When I first came out Mia X was one of the baddest females ever to hit the mic. Her word play, the way she articulates and the way she delivers is real it’s street, it’s relatable, and I think that’s what it’s gonna take a big female artist to blow. I mean, Nicki Minaj did it at her level and now Miss Chee has an opportunity to do it for the next generation to take the game to the next level. I think a lot of females off the street can relate to her and her struggles. It ain’t no limit to what she could do.

AllHipHop.com: How did the idea for the track, “Boyfriend & Girlfriend,” come about?

Master P: I think it’s gonna be incredible. I don’t think there’s a song out at this time on the streets that men and women can relate to. She got incredible acting skills, which makes her so strong.  On the music side, she’s a beast on the mic. You have to have those delivery skills to have both men and women like you.

Miss Chee: We are showing people men and women can work together. He got my back just like I have his. We just are putting out something positive and being real at the same time.

AllHipHop.com: So what are your plans for her career?

Master P: I predict she’s gonna be the biggest female in the game. She’s a brand and opening up avenues and doors. Nicki Minaj is at the top right now and feel that with every Kobe Bryant come along a Lebron James, and Miss Chee is the next Lebron coming into the game now. With her work ethic, she’s unstoppable. Thanks to the power of the Internet she has an international fan base already. Before that was something that took you a long time to build.

AllHipHop.com: What’s it like working with Master P?

Miss Chee: Growing up, especially coming from the South and coming from the streets, all you heard was No Limit. It was like the soundtrack to my life. And now to be blessed with the opportunity to work with someone of his stature is truly a blessing. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t learn anything from him. A lot of people get titles, but the streets gave me my name and he just stamped it. I’m getting the chance to live out my dreams. What I lot of people don’t understand is it’s a business and there’s so much more behind the scenes. He’s not only teaching me that but also about life. Everyday I wake up I have to thank the man upstairs for putting me in this position.

AllHipHop.com: So who did you find out about Miss Chee’s talents?

Master P: One of my A&R guys from Atlanta had heard of her since she was grindin’ hard doing it on her own. Then Romeo rebranded the company to No Limits Forever and they got together and one thing led to the next. So this ended up being a family business and we made her a part of the family. We not running a race, we running a marathon. We want to find real artists. She was a diamond in the rough and now she’s polished to take over the game because she worked hard. We want those types of people who work out to overcome their environment and don’t mind grinding it out until it’s their time. And that’s what we did and now it’s our time. I did it once and am doing it again, but bigger ’cause of the new technology. We don’t care about who’s out there because there is enough for a lot of people.
Music is a timing thing. You gotta wait for it. She’s been doing that. We’re not in a rush. This is the next big artist of next year. She know she’s a star but she’s also humble and patiently waiting until the fans approver her. What we doing now is just hitting the road, getting music online, in the clubs on the radio then game over.

AllHipHop.com: What’s the journey been like, Miss Chee?

Miss Chee: Like he said. People don’t realize this is not something that happens overnight. I’ve been doing music since I was very young. My musical background is what really kept me out of these streets. I am from Zone 6 in Atlanta, which is a very rough neighborhood. But I made it out because I worked hard. I would do every show, all the clubs, and was grindin’ hard. I had other labels come at me but they didn’t fit me. As a female in the industry, you find people that don’t respect you. But I’m a testament that you don’t have to put yourself in an uncomfortable position to make it ahead in this game. When I finally did get contact from the No Limit family, it was a blessing. I found someone who respected me and believed in what I was doing. It’s a blessing to be with No Limit Forever.

Master P: I think what she said is also incredible too ’cause if you look good there’s a lot of males looking to take advantage of females in this business who can’t see. Here she came out of the same neighborhood as Gucci Mane and other artists and overcome the struggle. And for her to represent No Limit Forever and be the first lady of this next generation is a blessing for all of us.

AllHipHop.com: Do you have a particular musical style?

Miss Chee: I like to call my music “life music” because we’re talking about real situations that people go through everyday. I feel that things that you see on TV are not attainable and people who haven’t lived that lifestyle won’t understand that. It’s okay to talk about the struggle and everyday situations. For me, music is my medicine, what got me out. I’m just a walking testament that with my music you can really do something with yourself.

AllHipHop.com: What sets you apart from other female MCs?

Miss Chee: I’m just me, honestly. I don’t try to be anything that I’m not. I don’t talk things I haven’t seen or been through. I’m a rough diamond.

Master P: Her music is more for the streets, and I don’t hear a lot of female artists talking about that. She’s versatile, but her foundation is the streets. I’m the king of the streets and she’s the queen. Like me, she’ll always have a connection to the hood no matter how many money she makes.

AllHipHop.com: So what’s next for Miss Chee?

Master P: The main thing right now that we’re doing is we dumping sometime every week online and building that brand. You can hate us now but we gonna keep dumping on you ’til you love us. Her music speaks for itself. We got another mixtape called “Bonnie and Clyde” coming out soon. She’s all over the movie soundtrack, so you defintiley are gonna hear her on that. We’re building her fan base. 2012 is No Limit time and it’s Miss Chee time.

AllHipHop.com: Are you still working on your TV network, P?

Master P: Yup, I’ve been dealing with distribution companies lately. We in the middle of it. Music is my life and no matter how I grow, I’m always going to be looked on as a person who comes from the music world. I’ve grown to be able to see other things and know what the game is missing and want to help the next generation open doors to bigger projects. There’s not many African-American networks for us. We gonna have talk shows, videos, movies, sitcoms, health shows, finance shows and more.

AllHipHop.com: What about the new No Limit Forever Records? How is it different from before and what’s its current place in hip-hop?

Master P: It’s a new army and we ready to take over these streets because it’s our time. We have all the tools and talent to make it work and that’s when music gets to be exciting. To come from the ’90s and still be relevant in the 2000s, I feel like Benjamin Button around here and got some young legs with me here like Miss Chee. You know what I’m sayin’? I feel the game is ours. We married to the money. It’s like business and we gonna get out here and get this money. We gonna change the game again. We building a bigger fan base every week and our goal here now is to be able to reach billions of people internationally. Right now, we got our eyes on some international artists and expanding globally. We looking for new talent, too, so submit your stuff if you think you can be part of our family. Submit your stuff at nolimitforeverrecords.com. We back…the takeover!

No Limit Records has been more or less underground for the better part of the last 10 years, so i think they have to do a lot of work to regain the scene like they had it back in the late 90s. And incase you didn't know, Baby (Cash Money CO-Founder) studied Master P to get to where he is right now. I mean, the whole having a label that is mostly independent...master p started that.

DJ Whoo Kid Wants Jay-Z And Lil Wayne To Battle

DJ Whoo Kid is the new celebrity to comment on the Jay-Z and Lil Wayne feud...i think the whole thing is kind of one sided, cos really, Jay-Z hasn't said anything about it, and i don't think he is going to say anything. In case you don't know about the beef, i would try and give a quick recap. Baby said in an interview that he makes more money than all other record label owners like Jay-Z; Jay responds to that by saying on his H.A.M track with  "you got baby money.” and "that niggas don't have my lady (beyonce) money". And then, on a track off Carter 4 titled 'It's Good', Lil Wayne dropped this lines aimed at Jay- “Talkin’ ‘bout baby money, I gotcha baby money / Kidnap your bitch get that how much you love your lady money / I know you fake, nigga / Press your brakes, nigga / I’ll take you out, that’s a date, nigga / I’m a grown ass blood, stop playing with me / Play asshole, and get an ass whippin’ / I think you pussycat, hello kitty.” Below is what DJ Whoo Kid thinks about whether or not their should be a lyrical battle between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

"Hip-hop needs this little, like, lyrical war," Whoo Kid said when asked for his opinion on Jay-Z and Lil Wayne going at one another. I think, some people think it's stupid but we need stuff like this to get the hype back in hip-hop because Nas and Jay-Z [beefing in 2001] was historical and then it blew both of them back up so I think this would be kind of cool. And then Lil Wayne was a little lyrical in whatever he said so I think Jay-Z should come back and both of them have good albums. So it's not like two wack albums going against each other." (E! Online)

I get what he is saying, but i still think Jay-Z is bigger than wayne...it wont just sound right. But i wont mind if Jay-Z and Eminem go at it. I would love that, and i think they are worthy opponents. If people look pass all the flipping, and crazy fast-paced delivery from eminem, and focus on bare lyrics, i think it would be a worth-while battle. Or what do you think?
