Nick Cannon Talks Possible Physical Confrontation With Eminem

Nick Cannon recently said that he has been trying to have a physical confrontation with Eminem, but em's bodyguards keep getting in the way. If you didn't know, Nick Cannon is married to Mariah Carey, and she dated eminem a while back (maybe just for a couple of months), and eminem has been making a lot of noise about it ever since.

On a song featured on Eminem's Relapse album, he said some disrespectful things about carey, and she replied him on the Obsessed song, which by the way, i feel is classic...i  feel she won the feud with eminem with just that one song. It got eminem so pissed, he made a 4 minute rap song dissing mariah. How are you going to be a rapper, and you are making diss songs aimed at a female r&b artist? I think eminem is one of the greatest, but i think he does stupid things at times.

Read what nick canon said about the whole issue recently-

"He'd have too many bodyguards around him," Cannon said about a possible physical altercation. "Anyone who insults my wife or my family, I have an issue with -- I would have to see where that man actually was coming from. If he was saying, man, this is entertainment, this is something. But if you literally have a problem with me, then we can solve that problem. You've crossed the line a little." ("Piers Morgan Tonight")

On Cannon's recent "Mr. Showbiz" stand-up comedy special, the actor said his family even doubted him battling the Grammy-winning rapper.
"'And then you want to go out there and start some hip-hop beef," Cannon said impersonating his grandfather. "You know who I'm talking about, with the boy, what's his name, Enema? Eminem. You know who I'm talking about. Nick, why you messing with him for? Ain't he the number one great rapper out there right now doing it? You wanna go and try to beef with him. Oh, and you lost too. Oh yeah you did because he said some nasty, disrespectful slanderous stuff about your wife boy. And what'd you do? You want to go on some d*mn Twitter. What's a Twitter? I got a 9 millimeter, you just tell me where to show up. Tweet, tweet this heat.'" ("Mr. Showbiz")

Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond- Wanted by The Feds

I think this is bad news, that Jimmy "Hechmen" Rosemond is wanted by the feds, because i remember he said he was innocent some weeks ago, and that all the noise surrounding him is just a ploy by some people to bring him down. click on this link to read what he had to say a couple of weeks ago, concerning the whole issue- Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond in Trouble With the Law

News now is that he is on the run, i don't know how true that is but i have a feeling that we would hear from him pretty soon saying he knew nothing about it. You can read the news below-

Hip Hop executive James Rosemond (a/k/a Jimmy Henchman) is presently a wanted man. According to AllHipHop.com, the longtime manager of rapper Game, as well as onetime manager for Gucci Mane, Shyne and others is currently a fugitive in the eyes of the DEA and federal marshals.

Earlier this month, Henchman was expected to turn himself in for drug distribution charges. On May 23, the New York-based founder of Czar Entertainment released a statement that he felt that he was a victim of a conspiracy, but would turn himself in if granted a fair trail.

If convincted, Henchman, a 20-year industry veteran, could found up to 20 years behind bars. His whereabouts are presently unknown. HipHopDX will keep you updated.

J.Cole Talks First Single and More on Debut Album

J.Cole recently did an interview where he talked about dropping his first single very soon, and the debut album eventually. Really, i thought "who dat" was the first single, but i guess that was just like a warm up single...like how jay-z had "jocking jay-z" before blueprint's eventual first single, "death of autotune". J.Cole says his debut album would feature his boss, Jay-Z. Read more about the story below-

J. Cole’s first single off his upcoming Roc Nation debut is ready to go, but he’s got to clear a Kanye West sample before releasing the track. The Fayetteville, North Carolina native recently explained during a UStream chat that he’s waiting on the issue to be resolved and he’ll be good to go.

“I just have to update y’all on the single. We said it’d come out this week. It’s ready to go, it’s mixed and mastered, it’s just the sample clearance,” he said, noting that he encountered a similar issue with “Who Dat,” of which he’ll release the original version this summer.

“Now, the single I’m about to put out - which I love to death and I really wish I could have put it out before Memorial Day Miami because it’s such a theme song for this shit - the thing is, I sampled a Kanye West song. When y’all hear how I did the sample, it’s so great. I love it. But I sampled the song, and the problem is, there’s like five writers on the song that he gave credit to and got publishing on the song,” he continued. “Everything happens for a reason. Just pray that as soon as it clears, we’re gonna put it out. [...] I can’t wait ‘til y’all hear the sample and the original and how I did it. Nobody obviously thought to flip it like that, or even would have heard that part.”

As for his debut album, he says it’s completed and has a release date, though he’s hoping to put it out on a different date. “I just finished the album. I’ll probably still be working and changing stuff up until the moment they tell me I got to turn it in,” he said. “I kinda got a date now, but I’m not really satisfied with it. I’ll give y’all... it’s a two-part album title.”

The 15-track album will also feature a collaboration with Jay-Z. “I did the song for Jay. Finally. Finally, finally. It’s fucking crazy,” said Cole, who hopes to put out his sophomore album shortly after his debut. “[I’m] probably about 70 percent of the second album. I’m tryna drop two in a year. I’m tryna come back like eight, nine months after. I ain’t really tell them yet.”

In the meantime, Cole will hit the road with Rihanna this summer, working on a non-mixtape project with Kendrick Lamar and crafting beats for Wale. “Me and Kendrick Lamar, it’s not a mixtape. It’s too good to be called a mixtape,” he said. “That’s my goal. When I’m on the road for the next two months on the Rihanna [tour], is to do straight beats on the bus. Kendrick’s my top priority, and then Wale, too. I been telling my nigga Fab I’ve been going to give something to him for so long. I’m slackin’ bad. My nigga Fab.”

Well, i can't wait to hear the single, and i can't wait for the album to drop. I think he needs to build a new buzz, because he doesn't have the right buzz for being as commercial as jay-z would want him to be.

Self Made: Vol 1 First Week Sales Projection

Rick Ross and the gang just dropped the Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made, Vol. 1 album, and it is predicted to sale....Read it below-

Universal Music now has the last four million selling debuts as Lady Gaga joins Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne and 50 Cent in a very rare category these days. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: *Lady Gaga (Interscope) 1m+ *Brad Paisley (Arista Nashville) 145-155k Adele (XL/Columbia) 125-135k *Glee Cast Vol. 6 (Columbia) 75-80k Now 38 (Capitol/EMI) 45-50k *Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made, Vol. 1 (Maybach/WB) 45-50k (HITS Rumor Mill

45k? Hmm! I am not surprised, that is exactly howmany copies i thought it would sell. You see, rap don't sell like it used too, and especially if you have 2, 3 or 4 rappers coming together as is the case with this album. But it is funny, you would think that each person should contribute to a cumulative fanbase, but i guess the fans are always skeptical. Nas last studio album, Untitled sold 189,000 copies in its first week in 2008, and when he dropped the distant relatives (2010) album with Damian Marley, the album sold just 57,000 copies.

Cadilac Tah Says Prodigy Lied in His Book

Cdilac Tah, a member of Th Inc (formerly murder inc) said in a recent interview that Prodigy lied concerning what he said about Jarule and Irv Gotti in his book. Read the news below-

In his autobiography, Mobb Deep’s Prodigy noted that former Murder Inc. affiliate Cadillac Tah set up Ja Rule and Irv Gotti to be jumped by E Money Bags. But according to Tah, Prodigy fabricated the incident in an attempt to sell more copies of his book.

“My dude say in his little book, Gotti and Ja got robbed. That’s one fact that’s not true,” he told Forbez DVD. “You could do your homework on that. Niggas ain’t never been robbed, as long as I was around. Now whatever happened before then, I don’t know nothing about. But as long as Murda Inc. shit was poppin, niggas never got robbed, you feel me?”

He explains that he called Ja and they laughed off the situation, though he hasn’t conversed with Irv Gotti. “I haven’t spoken to Gotti, he be doing his own thing. He probably ain’t even paid no attention to that shit. But I spoke to Rule and shit, the nigga Rule was laughing on the phone,” he said. “We laughing at this clown ass nigga. We just buggin out off this Karrine Steffans male ass nigga. This nigga’s a male Superhead. But go head man, do what you gotta do to sell your book.”

He also debunked claims made about his business relationship with E Money Bags and Ja. “Homes who a nigga speaking about, I never fucked with. So you could do your homework on that, too. Niggas will tell you that. I never fucked with a nigga. Nigga could have never gotten a page from me, ‘cause I never got down with a nigga like that,” he stated. “That’s another shit to look at when you look at his book and see that all that shit ain’t facts. And the nigga started shit off I think he said something about, the introduction was about his beef with Ja Rule or some shit. That just goes to show you that a nigga put some shit in there just to get his book sold. ‘Cause the nigga never had no problems with Rule.”

Well, i wonder who is telling the truth, but i think i would go with Cadilac Tah...his story just really sounded honest to me. But on a serious note, it seems a lot of rappers are not happy with this Prodigy's book; Capone, Nore, Jay-Z...even nas indirectly stated his displeasure when he said that if P wanted to write a book he should write one, but make sure he got his facts right.

Nas Finally Drops Title of 10th Album- "Life is Good"

Yeah! Nas finally dropped the title of his 10th album, and he said it is going to be titled "Life is Good". He let the cat out of the bag on twitter a couple of minutes ago.

Nas Nasir Jones
My album title is- Life Is Good!!!

That's exactly what he put up on his twitter page. I am a big nas fan, so this is good news to me, because this shows that he is concentrating on getting the album out. It is a good thing he has a new friend in Damian Marley- the two just got off touring for there collaborative effort (Distant Relatives), and there is news that Damian is also working on a solo LP of his own, and nas is featured on it. I am sure the fact that damian was working on an album would have encouraged him to face his solo project.

Since i got this off twitter, i decided to put up some of the comments people dropped after hearing this news-

Elajoe; The Last of a Dying Breed

Nigerian music scene is exploding, but still we have very few credible rappers on the scene. When the name Elajoe comes to mind, I quickly think lyricist, raw-uncut hip hop, thorough. While other rappers on the Nigerian music scene give you rhymes that don't really make sense, and hide behind flashy videos, Elajoe gives you the real deal. He has been on a hiatus for a while now, but he is back on the scene.

I remember hearing “Streethop” a track by Thoroughbreds (Elajoe, Illbliss, Amaka chief-Rocka, B-elect) back when I was in College, and I was so impressed that it was actually a dope rap song done by Nigerians. Thoroughbreds are one of the most reputable hiphop coalitions in Nigeria & Africa that were the first hiphop crew to get on MTV Base and first indigenous Nigerians to be on MTV 2 America.

I would be committing a crime if I don't mention the fact that Elajoe produced and promoted “Streethop”. Now, he is back and better, but still keeping it as real as ever. He has two tracks on the streets- “Where Dem”, which is to be the first single of his forthcoming album titled “Elajoe’s MicWorx”; and the second track is titled “Mr. Power Moves”- a track featuring the DJ Jimmy Jatt.

On the “Where Dem” track, he drops lines like- It’s the E to the LA, the J to OE/don’t need no fucking airplay for them to know me. This is stating his place in the Nigerian hip hop scene. It wasn’t too long ago, 2007 to be precise, when He, Modenine, Tuface and DJ Jimmy Jatt did the “Stylee” song, which was an instant classic. The balance he brought to that track cannot be disputed. They say hard work pass off, so it should not be a surprise that he won awards for “Streethop”, and “Stylee” as well.

I forgot to mention that just as he is a Rapper, he is also a producer, event consultant and promoter. He is the C.E.O of Dark Cypher Entertainment/Thoro Music. One can’t say he hasn’t had his hands full, hosting shows like Jimmy’s jump-off launch; MTV/Shell party for American Hip Hop star, Talib Kweli; and Sprite Triple Slam, just to mention a few. He has handled consultancy services for events like storm the mic, MTN/Nation’s Africa’s “Ekaabo”, Urban Massive with Channel O. Elajoe, in 2008, also had the honor of awarding Nas (A legendary American rapper, and arguably the best rapper ever) at the SMVA’s of that year.

Personally, I think people like Elajoe keep getting better with time. Check out some lines from his new single, “Where Dem”- Its Inevitable Coming With A Better Flow/ The Lyrical Miracle All U Mutherf%¤kers Better Know/ So Young & Old The Whole Public In General/ Forget About Your Worries & Listen To The Impeccable Flow Of Elajoe.

You can go ahead and download the new two new tracks, "Where Dem" and "Mr Power Moves" here- http://www.reverbnation.com/elajoe. And to watch the "Where Dem" video, click on this link -"where dem"

Dj Premier Remembers a Recording Session With Nas

Dj Premier, the legendary rap beat maker/producer, remembers a recording session with Nas; the session that birthed "New York State of Mind", a classic track from Nas's debut album, Illmatic (1994). If y'all didn't know, nas was the golden child of hiphop back then- the new messiah of rap, and every dope beat maker wanted to work with him; that's why, on illmatic, you have production from Dj Premier (he produced 3 of the 9 songs on that album), Pete Rock, Qtip, L.E.S and Large Professor- all these people were big in the early/mid 90s.

Read what Dj Premier had to say below-

“NY State of Mind." “Shout to Showbiz, Showbiz from D.I.T.C. was there that day. It was Showbiz, Biggest Gord, me and Nas had a whole bunch of his friends with him from Queensbridge,” he recalled. “Back then, he used to roll real thick with a lot of dudes. Big crew. We all had posses. I used to have 100 people on stage with me. I made the beat on the spot, right there at D&D studios, and he likes to sit at the head of the control board and rhyme like this, with his hand over his mouth like he can only hear himself while the beat plays.”

He remembers Nas struggling to start the verse, and how it naturally flowed out. “You hear him say ‘I don’t know how to start this shit.’ [...] What it is, he’s looking at the paper because he’s trying to figure out how to format coming on the beat, but I’m counting going ‘1, 2, 3’ and at the last minute, he’s looking at the paper going, ‘I don’t know how to start this shit,’” he continued. “I guess out of the corner of his eye saw me going ‘1, 2, 3’ because my booth is where we can see each other. So it’s always amazing that he did that whole verse in one take, non-stop. Very impressive.

WOW! Nas did that on one take, that's great; i always wondered why he said what he said at the beginning of the song.

Listen to Eminem & Royce Da 5'9

Click on the link above to listen to this FIRE track (I'm on Everything" from Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 from their collabo EP; "Hell: The Sequel". I think this is a great track, and you know royce always comes correct, and you can't be disappointed when another dope rapper brings the best out of eminem.

Whiz Khalifa Says he has no Negativity Towards Kanye West

Whiz Khalifa recently said he has no negative blood towards Kanye West, and he gives no room to such things in his train of thought. In case you don't know, Whiz Khalifa is dating Amber Rose, who happened to be the Ex girlfriend of kanye west. For a recap of how issue about Whiz Khalifa feuding with kanye became a topic, read it up here- Whiz Khalifa and Amber Rose versus Kanye West

Then, read below, what Khalifa recently said about the whole issue-

“No, (it doesn’t bother me) at all,” Wiz explained to the VOICE Online when asked if he’s bothered by the fact that Rose dated West. “You can’t judge a person by who they were with before. If I’d done that, I would’ve missed out on a great person. There are tons of people who were with somebody and then went on to be with somebody else who they really found love with…There’s no relationship and no negativity because I’ve never met (Kanye). If I do ever meet him, I’ll be nice and cool, as I always am, and hopefully he’ll be the same way.”

Wiz went on to explain that he has no time for the negativity brought on because of his relationship with Rose.

“We’re grownups. And he’s older than I am, so I would absolutely expect him to act in a mature way. I ain’t tripping on anything like that,” said Wiz. “I’ve got so much that I wanna do. I can’t let my goals be tainted with anything negative.”

I think that is pretty cool coming from someone that is just 23 years old. From all interviews i have seen and read on him, he seems to be a really positive individually, and i think it would help him a lot in the music industry...and in life generally.

Havoc Talks About Mobb Deep Squashing Beef With Nas

Havoc, one half of the legendary rap group, Mobb Deep talked about how they squashed the beef with old time friend, Nas. Personally, i still don't know what caused that beef. I do know that it was only Prodigy that was saying foul stuff about nas, and Havoc never said anything disrespectful about nas.

I used to really feel bad, when in 2005, Mobb Deep signed with G-Unit, and P would get on interviews bad mouthing nas, saying things like- "I am rich now...50 cent bought me a Porsche...and millshake man (nas) is all washed up, no one listens to him anymore". I always wondered what loyalty meant to prodigy; that is just like me taking sides with a new guy cos he has a lot of money. How could he have forgotten all the classic collabos they (mobb deep and nas) made in the 90s- i though to myself. I guess going to jail has a way of making people think, and realize their wrong doings.

Its all good now, they did a song together, "Dogshit", immediately P got out of jail, and they in talks on a collabo album; if it happens, i think it would be great.

Read what Havoc had to say below-

"When P came home, it was in our head like, yo, we really need to sew up that relationship because we were all cool once upon a time," he said in an interview. "What a waste of friendship it is to not be cool anymore. It's stupid. We older now, so we reached out to Nas. He was receptive to it, and it was like friends all over again. It was like we never stopped speaking. So we did the 'Dog Sh*t' song. To me, it's a hip-hop classic, but it'll take a couple of years to become that. That's what came out of it. So doing Rock The Bells, we're gonna drag him out, bring him back on stage with us, and he could leave after that." (Hip Hop DX)

Akon Signed Lady Gaga and Basically Retired Afterwards

Akon signed Pop Icon, Lady Gaga and retired afterwards; i think i can say that with all authority. I don't normally talk on issues out of the rap genre, but Akon is so Hip Hop, i had to bring this up. Whenever i tell people that Akon signed Lady Gaga, they always go like- "hey, get your facts right". People can't imagine that the biggest Pop Star in the world right now is signed to Konvict music/Kon Live. Akon signing her was a gamble, but he hit it big, and i can say he retired afterwards.

Check it out; Akon signed her in 2008, the same year he dropped his third album (Freedom). After her worldwide success, akon didn't even bother going into the studio to make any album again...and he started doing funny collabos like the one with David Guetta...just playing around, because that Lady Gaga Royalty Money got him set for life.

Read what he said about the issue below-

"I think what everybody else didn't," Akon said about Gaga. "She had went through like four or five labels. When I closed my deal at Interscope, she was getting dropped that week ... they was dropping her again. I was like 'Yo, I wanna sign that right there.' Jimmy [Iovine] was like 'Yeah, whatever you want, take her. Let's get it done.' She's blossomed into a super-mega star. She's pretty much retired me. She was definitely a blessing. She came at the right moment. I'm glad I believed in her, boy. That goes to show, if you believe in something good -- it will pay off." (Associated Press)

Very true words

Eve Comments on The Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj Beef

I am really tired of bringing up stories related to the Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj beef, but, since Eve is also a female rapper, i think the world needs to hear what she has to say. So, read what eve has to say below-

“I need her to stop. If I was Kim’s friend, I’d be like, yo. Because she’s Kim, period. So she never has to feed. She shouldn’t,” she told BBC Radio 1Xtra. “It’s bad. It’s not a good look. If I was her friend, I’d tell her, yo, just come back bigger and better. The best way to get at people is to do you better than you’ve ever done you. So that’s it.”

She also gave props to Nicki for holding it down for the ladies in the rap game. “I love it. You know, it’s definitely a nice group of females that’s out representing, but because I come from hip-hop, I need more females in hip-hop,” she continued. “Nicki definitely is holding the flag down, and a lot of people be wanting me to hate just because that’s how girls supposed to do in hip-hop, but I’m loving everything she does. But we need more females, man. There’s too much testosterone in the hip-hop game.”

I liked the first response from Kim, "Black Friday", it was hot and it was in defense of Nicki's jab at her on "Roman's Revenge", but i didn't like the idea of kim shooting a video to it, or continuous comments on the matter. As eve said, kim needs to just put in work, and make good quality music; that way, she would show the people that she has still got it. That is exactly what Rick Ross did when 50 cent was trying to assassinate his character with all the comic shit...ross just went to work and produced a classic album (Deeper Than Rap), and kept on dropping hit after hit and everybody forgot what 50 was saying, and focused on Rick Ross's music- and you can see what came out of that; one person is constantly on radio, while the other is cracking jokes on twitter, while his rap career is dwindles with each passing day.

Snoop Says Dr Dre Needs to Surround Himself with the Right People to Complete Detox

Snoop Dogg, long time friend and associate of Dr Dre says he feels Dr Dre is surrounding himself with the wrong set of people, which is the reason why his highly anticipated album, Detox still hasn't seen the light of day. You know what? I am getting really tired of hearing about this album (detox); i have been waiting on it since my second year in college, and that was in 2004. That was 7 years ago, and this man can't still get himself together to put the album out.

Don't get me wrong, i am a Dr Dre fan, and i love his music and production, but i am also an artists, i write novels, and if i had waited for when i felt was perfect, i would never have written all the story ideas that come to me regularly. So, relating this to dre, i am sure he has a concept for the album, and how to go about it, but he must be scared of the new market or something, cos i don't know why he can't just GET IT OUT ALREADY!

Read what snoop had to say below-

During an interview with Tim Westwood, rapper Snoop Dogg gave some interesting insight on why he believes there’s been such a delay in releasing Dr. Dre’s Detox album. Snoop explained that the main problem is the type of environment Dre’s creating his music in.

“It’s a formula. Like I was trying to explain to you earlier when we made records in the past it was an environment, an atmosphere. It was always girls,” Snoop explained. “It was always parties. It was always the right atmosphere to create that kind of album that sounds like the albums that you’ve heard in the past. If there’s not that atmosphere you can’t create that kind of album. So that’s what’s happening right now. The songs don’t match the atmosphere and the atmosphere don’t match the songs.”

Snoop went on to explain that due to his perfectionist side Dr. Dre is unlikely to release anything until he feels that it’s close to perfect.

“What we’re accustomed to hearing from Dr. Dre is the brand new, next best everything and from right now people not getting that. He knows that,” said Snoop. “So he’s a perfectionist and until he gets that he’s not gonna release it cause he doesn’t want the scrutiny of people saying ‘I waited this long for that?’ It’s like when I wait this long I better get that and that.”

Snoop also shed some light on the fact that Dr. Dre may not be surrounding himself with the right people when it comes to making his album. He also shared that he feels like he and D.O.C. need to be a part of Detox in order for it to work.

“I’mma say this and I don’t know if it’s gonna ruffle any feathers. I just think the wrong people is in the environment. When he made records that were hit records in the past: D.O.C., Snoop Dogg, RBX, Kurupt,” said the rapper. “It’s like it’s pieces that’s not there that need to be there. And I’ll say D.O.C. and Snoop Dogg is the backbone. When you take those two equations and you take them out of the equation it’s not gonna work. You need to put them two back into the situation and let us mastermind and head the project like we did The Chronic in 2001. That’s what’s missing.”

Another Young Money Rapper Says Jadakiss is the Most Underrated Rapper in The Game

Another rapper in the Young Money camp recently said Jadakiss is the most underrated rapper in the game. Short Dawg agrees totally with Gudda Gudda (who gave his opinion recently that jadakiss is the most underrated rapper in the game- read here...Gudda Gudda says Jadakiss is Underrated) that jadakiss is the most underrated rapper in the game.

Read what he had to say about it below-

I think Jadakiss is the most underrated rapper in the game. That's easy because he's actually my favorite artist as well. Jada is who I would say is SOHH Underrated.
If you listen to Jadakiss, he's been doing his thing for years. He's been consistent ever since the first time I heard him. He has never lost a step. Jada's never slowed down a step with what he's made in music. It's tough to do that in this game because it takes so much hard work and dedication.

He's one of the top lyricists in the entire rap game. I remember when MTV did their "Hottest in the Game" list and he was ranked at No. 9 and I just didn't understand that. I don't know what it was based on, whether it was his records or album sales. That right there is a prime example of how people don't give proper credit to somebody like Jadakiss, who has put that extra work into his music.

Supreme Williams, better known by his stage name Short Dawg (or his nickname Elvis Freshley) is a rapper from Houston, Texas currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. Short Dawg was first known for appearing on Lil Wayne's "Me And My Drank" record, and after two years of friendship Weezy finally signed Short to YME.

I have said it here before, i am a die-hard jadakiss fan, and i love all the members of L.O.X, but what i think is that, as i have always said, jadakiss does not have the ability to make hit records...he always does it bad when he tries to make radio friendly songs. Of course, some of them come out well, but most are not always so good. But, if it comes to laying down a FIRE 16, then my man jada is second to none. The only person i put above jadakiss on my personal list of top five dead or alive is NAS, period!

Mobb Deep and Nas to Make Collabo Album

Mobb Deep and Nas would be making a collabo album soon, says Havoc, one half of the the duo. I think it would be wonderful because they have a lot of dope collabo's from the 90s- from "live nigger rap", to "it's mine." I just hope they can get Nas to sit through it. Nas is a recluse, but i think Damian Marley has managed to get him out of his shell a bit.

Although a lot of the young rap listeners may not appreciate the collabo album, but it would be good for hiphop.
Read story below-

One of the surprises announced during last night's Rock the Bells press conference was that Havoc and Prodigy would be performing Mobb Deep's The Infamous album in its entirety, joining a list of acts that includes Nas, Lauryn Hill and Souls of Mischief, to name a few. This news broke as Mobb Deep continues to work on new material after Prodigy's recent release from prison. Havoc sat down with us to talk about joining the Rock the Bells lineup and broke exclusive news to HipHopDX by saying, "We're going to do a Mobb Deep and Nas album."

When asked what fans can expect from Mobb Deep's renewed relationship with Nas, following their "Dog Shit" release, Havoc said that fans can expect, "an album from it."

"We’re gonna do a Mobb Deep and Nas album. It hasn’t begun but we tipped the iceberg a little bit with the 'Dog Shit.' I think as we was working, doing songs back and forth with Nas recently, I think it was just a mutual thought, like, 'Yo, let’s make a fucking album.' Everybody was like, 'Yeah, that would be dope. Fuck it, what we waiting for? Let’s do it.'"

The trio will have time to record over the summer as all three have decided to join the Rock the Bells tour. Like Mobb Deep, Nas will also perform an album in its entirety. He is scheduled to perform Illmatic. For Mobb Deep, this tour will bring about some exciting new challenges, as Havoc explained.

Jadakiss Names His Top Five Dead or Alive Rappers

Jadakiss recently named his list of top five dead or alive rappers. Although he appears in a lot of people's list of top five dead or alive, he gives his own list. It might interest you to know that jadakiss coined this phrase sometime in the early 00s, and it became popular afterwards. It was made to fit a rhyme, but what it really mean is the list containing the top five rappers/emcees, including the dead ones (tupac, biggie, big l, big pun...). So, you got a large poll to choose from...sort of like the top five of all time.

Read what he says below-

When fans and critics throw Jadakiss' name into the top five dead or alive conversation, not much argument follows considering the rap veteran's lyrical content puts many of his competitors to shame. But when the Yonkers native puts his own list out for eyes to ogle over, he's sure to raise some eyebrows as it sits outside the quota. "Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, [and] Styles P," Jadakiss revealed. "I never sold 10 million or none of that, so all the votes I get is strictly off the lyrics." (Rap-Up)

Jada also shared his reaction to Swizz Beatz recently putting him in his Top 5.

"That's a blessing. I don't really get caught up in that, but I appreciate when people acknowledge me as one of their top artists, whether it's numerical or just in general. I appreciate the love from [my fans and peers] appreciating the body of work I've been putting out all of these years." (Rap-Up)

Jarule Comments on The Lil Kim & Nicki Minja Beef

Jarule recently weighed in on the Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj beef, and said it was almost understandable as Hip Hop is a very competitive genre of music. He also said he felt that they can work it and get along. I think they can reach that point, but i feel like Nicki Minaj feels she doesn't have to, and doesn't need to at this point in her career, so i guess it would go on for a while. It is almost like Nicki is enjoying being on-top so much...being able to look at the fallen old comrades and laugh like- "Yeah! I am the shit now, you are washed up! HA-HA-HA"

Read jarule's comment below-

During the interview, Ja weighed in on Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim's extended feud. No stranger to high profile beefs himself, Ja said that he thinks rappers are far more susceptible to feuding with each other because of the competitive nature of rap music. Ultimately, he believes that the two artists can work it out in the end.

"I think it's terrible, man," he said. "I like Nicki, I know Kim. It's fucked up that artists in Hip Hop go through that shit, because artists in pop and R&B and other genres..don't go through that shit...[Kenny Chesney vs. Garth Brooks,] you don't get that shit. You don't have to disrespect another artist's creativity...to better yourself or get ahead as an artist. I think Nicki and Kim, they can resolve that."

Speaking of beef, Ja also spoke on his failed super-group Murder Inc. with Jay-Z and former foe DMX. He said that the group ultimately never really took off because some of the members' egos.

"We tried to put [the Murder Inc. group] together, but it didn't pan out," he said. "I think egos got in the way of that whole situation. But you've got to understand that that's Hip Hop, too. Niggas are competitive. I think [DMX] and Jay[-Z] were so competitive [that]...real talk, we couldn't even get [them] in the same room because of their competitive natures and what they had been through before that [with]...the legendary battle that they had on the pool tables up in Uptown with the guns out."

I think jarule is making a lot of sense here.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Sales are low this week, and The Beastie Boys are back at number 1, selling 24,000 copies this week. Their Hot Sauce Committee Part2 album has sold a total of 194,000 copies so far. It is funny though, cos i do not know anybody that has bought the album. I haven't bought it. Maybe its is just me...have u bought it?

Tinie Tempah, the British rapper debuted his album in America last week, and it sold 16,000 copies after one week in stores. The "Disc-Overy" album dropped in the U.K last year (2010), but EMI Records dropped it in the U.S this year...officially. I think he is a nice rapper, for this era of hip hop...where you have the B.O.Bs, and the Kid Cudi's, but he is definitely not my kind of rapper...no offense to any of his fans.
Disc-Overy
Whiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers album sold 15, 000 copies this week, and the album is now up to 402,000 copies sold. Tyler The Creators' Goblin album sold 13,000 copies in its second week in stores, bringing the total sales to 58,000 copies sold. And the southern rapper, Killer Mike sold 4,400 copies of his new debut PL3DGE, after one week in stores.

Baby (Birdman) Wonders What Happened to The Competition

In a recent interview, Cash Money Records C.E.O, Bryan "Baby" Williams wonders where all the competition went. He remembers all the the labels that were around in the 90s, and he can't see them anywhere again. I don't care if you hate him or love him, you have to give it to Baby; he has persevered through the eras...2 decades and he is still waxing strong.

Where is Bad Boy Records? Where is No Limit? Death Row? Ruff Ryderz? So So Def? Where is G-Unit? None of them can stand in this era, no matter how much they have tried. Cash Money/Young Money has Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj,Jay Shawn what more can Baby ask for?

Read what Baby had to say about the competition below-

"When I look around, through my years and my time, you know, the game, it was a lot in the field, a lot of people doing it," he says. "And I look around, and it's like, where the f*ck did everybody go? I ain't never understood that, but the game like that sometimes, that muthaf*cka's gon' keep ya or it's gon' leave ya. It's all on you." (XXL Magazine)

Nas Gives info on His 10th Album

Nas has been on the Distant Relatives tour with Damian Marley for a while now, but he is off it now and is in the studio working on his 10th album. His fans, which also include his fellow rappers can't wait for the album to drop. Although his last solo album (Untitled) was dropped in 2008, 3 years ago, it seems like ages since nas dropped an album, and the streets just can't wait. Just visit any hiphop site, blog or forum and read what the hiphop listeners are saying about this man/legend. He dropped his first album at age 20, 17 years ago, and it is almost incredible to know that he is still this admired and respected.

Read what nas had to say below-

"I'm working on a solo album," Nas said in an interview. "I'm very excited about that. [No title] to share with the people yet. The producer list on the record is probably gonna be people I worked with in the past like Salaam Remi and some new producers as well...I love life...What else am I going to do? There's nothing that gives me the charge that I get making music. I do a lot of other things on the low, but I'm mostly proud of the music." (The Boom Box)

If he is this excited about the album, i know we should be expecting a banger.

Game Speaks on Red Nation Ban

The video for the first single (Red Nation) of Game's R.E.D album was recently banned by MTV and B.E.T. Well, i guess they feel game is to gangsta for TV. I think the video is really cool, and kinda like a breath of fresh air from all i have been seeing on TV. I am just tired of all the videos having the same concept- Party setting, club setting, throwing up money, riding expensive cars...all that. I was just really tired of that, so when i watched Game's RED NATION video, although it shows a lot of gang activity in it, it is very different and innovative.

You can follow this link to view it- RED NATION

Read what game had to say about the video ban below-

"I like to take a little bit of credit myself, too," Game told George Lopez when told the MTV and BET ban helped create a strong online buzz. "They said that they had kid viewers and, you know, it was too gang affiliated but I understand. I got kids, so I didn't argue it. I said cool and went straight to YouTube and now we're at almost four million views." ("Lopez Tonight")

Okay, now he needs to get a release date for his album, and start the marketing...no more talking.

Gudda Gudda of Young Money Says Jadakiss is The Most Underrated Rapper

Young Money rapper, and long time friend of Lil Wayne recently gave Jadakiss the crown of the most Underrated Rapper in the game. I think i can buy that, because i have been on jadakiss's music since my late teens and i have never heard him spit one wack verse. In fact, there was a time in the early 00s when i would go to the store to check out rap CDs, and would buy any albums that had jada on a guest appearance. I didn't want to know who the rapper was or if he was dope or not. For all i care, the rapper could be the wackest rapper in the universe, as long as he has jada on it, i am copping it. Till this day, he is second to Nas on my list of top 5 dead or alive.

Read the story below-

I would name Jadakiss for SOHH Underrated. He's the first rapper that comes to mind. I'm from the South but on some real sh*t, I was raised off what Jadakiss was saying. That's that era that I'm from right there, the Jadakiss era. Coming up, it was all about Jadakiss, The LOX, Beanie Sigel, State Property, all of that stuff is what helped mold me into what I am today.

I always thought he was in the top three best rappers of all time. I just feel like people respect him, a lot of artists respect him but he still doesn't get all of the respect he deserves in the rap game. So Jadakiss is always gonna be that underrated rapper to me.

The main thing I loved about Jadakiss was his voice. I just loved the way his voice would project [onto] a track. His flow, lyrics, everything about Jada's style was just sick to me. I could remember days when me and [Lil] Wayne would be riding around listening to him all day and the LOX album and we would just be like, "Man, this n*gga Jadakiss is stupid on this beat." He's one of the best.

This was back when we were young, about 17 years old. We would be riding around and thinking, "These dudes are sick." I wasn't even rapping at that time. I used to be like, "These dudes are sick" and me and Wayne would talk about these guys all day. He'll always be one of those underrated artists to me that the game just sleeps on.

Carl Lilly, better known by his stage name Gudda Gudda, is a rapper from San Jose, CA who moved to New Orleans when he was a baby. Double G met Lil Wayne when he was young and it was Wayne who encouraged Gudda to start rapping. He was also a part of the rap group called Sqad Up with fellow Young Money members Weezy and T-Streets.

WOW! It is wonderful hearing another jada fan admit to have been hooked to jada's raps from back in the days. And for him to say he and "lil wayne" used to ride around listening to jadakiss all day is really an honor to jada. I think the only problem jada has, and has always had is the problem with making a dope album. Don't get me wrong, he drops dope verses on his albums, but, sometimes, in a bid to make a commercially successful album, he usually gets it all wrong. From "kiss the game goodbye" (2001), to "kiss of death" (2004), to the "the last kiss" (2009); and i am saying this as a die-hard jadakiss fan. I have always told my friends that the other 2 members of his rap group, "sheek louch" and "styles p" make better rounded albums than him.

Jadakiss just does not have that formula to make commercially successful albums; but that don't mean he isn't still as dope as ever. I remember when 50 cent was selling millions on his albums, and he started the beef with jada back in 2005, some 50 cent fans were surprised at how jada ripped 50 into shreds. Some of them in my neighborhood initially told me that 50 would out-rap jada in the beef, and i just laughed.

Nicki Minaj Comments on Queen of Hip Hop Title

Rolling stone magazine recently crowned Nicki Minaj as the Queen of Hip Hop. Well, i think presently, she is the queen. Nobody was occupying the thrown, so she came and sat in it. I am not saying she is the best female rapper out, just like the prettiest girls don't win the pageants, but she is the one the most in the media eye, and she hasn't been doing a bad job with her songs and featuring, so what other criteria is needed in crowning her?

Read more below-

Earlier this year, Rolling Stone magazine dubbed Young Money starlet Nicki Minaj the New Queen of Hip Hop. Now, in an interview with Funkmaster Flex for MTV2's Funk Flex Full Throttle, Minaj reacts to her latest honor from the music magazine.

Nicki said that she was extremely excited to have been given such a major title by such a respected media outlet. Despite this, she said that won't let the accolades go to her head, and that she's just honored to see that people respect her hardwork.

“It was very, very amazing to me,” said Nicki. “I was so excited ’cause [Rolling Stone is] really respected, and then when I went on all the TV shows, they kept on saying, ‘She’s been dubbed the New Queen of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone magazine,’ so I was like, that happened at the perfect time.”

She added, “I’m honored because I obviously have been working hard to get to this place. Whether or not I’m the queen of anything, everybody’s gonna have their own opinion and I don’t do this thinking I’m the queen of this, I’m the queen of that. I just feel like I’m working hard and I just want people to recognize that.”

I think she also has a formidable team behind her, Cash-Money/Young-Money, so she would definitely be around longer than people think. She is not going anywhere soon, so get used to seeing her. Although i must say that, judging from some of her recent comments and lyrics, the fame seem to be getting to her, but i guess that is what happens to people that raise up fast. With time, she would get acclimatized, and just face making good music.

Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond in Trouble With the Law

The man that manages Akon, Shawn Kingston, Brandy and Game is trouble with the law. Read below-

Rosemond, who has yet to be located, is being accused of involvement in a drug organization that regularly shipped cocaine and millions in cash between New York and Los Angeles recording studios, using overnight delivery services. TheSmokingGun.com reports that a man named Khalil Abdullah has already been charged with five counts of conspiring to distribute cocaine, distribution, possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit money laundering and obstruction of justice. Several other men have been similarly charged in the case, including Rosemond's brother Kesner, who has reportedly pleaded guilty to cocaine distribution, and another man named Henry Butler, who is cooperating with the DEA in the investigation. (The Boom Box)

Prior to the story making nationwide headlines, Rosemond's attorney addressed the legal matter.
A Federal arrest warrant is out for hip-hop mogul Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond, who manages Brandy, Sean Kingston and Akon. Sources say the warrant was issued last week for the Czar Entertainment chief after he was indicted for alleged involvement in cocaine distribution, and he has yet to be located. A law enforcement official confirmed that a fugitive warrant is out for Rosemond. His lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, said, "Although a federal prosecutor has told me that there is an arrest warrant out, they have refused to provide me with the warrant or a copy of the charges." (New York Post)

No further details have been revealed as of now.

Below is what he (Henchmen) had to say about it-

""With the Name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful I have decided to break my silence to address slanderous media once and for all. Firstly, I want to apologize to every music artist and executive I've worked with. In addition, I apologize to my family and friends who have had to endure this horrible situation," he said in a statement to XXL Mag. "The events over the past week, to say the least, have caught me off guard. Although I have been aware of an investigation-taking place over the last four years, I was never informed that an arrest warrant had been issued in my name. I first learned about that warrant through the media when the news was released last week." (Statement)

He also said the situation is all a part of a large conspiracy to bring him down.
"I would like to expose the two prosecutors spearheading this slanderous and trumped up case against me. The first, prosecutor Todd Kaminsky, is a 33-year-old White hip-hop head that if he weren't a lawyer he would probably be a member of the Beastie Boys. Second, Carolyn Porkony, who failed in convicting the Murder Inc. Irv Gotti brothers on trumped up charges of money laundering. Both have a personal stake in pursuing me and will stop at nothing to bring down an innocent man...Where's the real proof that I have committed these crimes? I just want my fair trial and to not be railroaded as they so eagerly want to do. A fair trial is afforded by the constitution and witnesses should be forthright without pressure or duress. That's all I want and I'll turn myself in today. Again, I apologize to my peers, artists and family for being subjected to all of this." (Statement)

Eminem Wins 6 Billboard Awards

Eminem won six awards at the recently concluded Billboard Awards Ceremony. I don't think i am surprised one bit, and i am not going to say he won them because he is white. He won because he produced a lovely album last year...an album that went on to be the best selling album last year, in all genre's and not rap alone. It also produced lovely, high selling singles like, "Not Afraid", "The Way You Lie" and "No Love" featuring Lil Wayne.

In 2009, he knew he messed up with the "Relapse" album, so he immediately went back into the studio, and he put his whole efforts into it. Apart from the song with pink, i think i like every other track on that album.

Eminem tied Bieber for the most awards at six wins. Out of 46 award categories, Shady took home nods for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album [Recovery], Top Rap Album and Top Rap Song [“Love The Way You Lie” ].

While the selection process by the National Acacemy of Recording Arts and Sciences has recently come under fire for their more subjective methods used for selecting Grammy Award winners, Billboard stated, “all finalists and winners were determined by a combination of chart performances.” The eligibility period for nominations ran from February 28, 2010 through March 1, 2011. The amount of their respective awards reflected the strength of Eminem and Bieber’s current sales. To date, Em’s Recovery has sold over 3.8 million copies, while Bieber’s My World 2.0 has moved over 2.7 million units.

Notable performers Sunday night were Cee-Lo Green, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Lil Wayne, and Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, who both featured Britney Spears as a guest performer.

I think Justin Beiber also deserved every award he got, cos he really worked last year, and this would be a compensation for all the awards he was meant to get at the Grammy Awards. I think it wasn't cool what they did to Beiber and Drake at the Grammys; denying them of what the world knows they derserved.
